Wojo 2,453
Well is there any way we can whittle down Jedimaster's list to see what it could be? Because I have absolutely no idea.Even though that list is not accurate, because it lists many movies with recent soundtrack album releases, like the Indy films, but it also omits Willow, which has seen a soundtrack album release. Ollie 1,059
Well when I look at his list and subtract Back To The Future I see films from Paramount & Disney. I also see films left off that list. While not impossible, it's too time consuming to whittle the list down. When I take Doug's comments from Intrada and look at composers that were big in the 80's that didn't get a release from certain films I come up James Horner, Elmer Bernstein and Dave Grusin as the main 3. Then there's Bill Conti, Michael Kamen and Henry Mancini who also had scores that weren't released.Reading the message board, and Doug's comments there, it doesn't seem like Honey I Shrunk the Kids is a candidate either.I'm sure there are ones I'm overlooking, the War Games release caught me off guard Perhaps it's Michael Kamen's Highlander or David Newman's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure ........ Charlie Brigden 7
True, it was only about ten minutes.I suppose they could reissue Meco's Impressions alongside it. Dean1700 4
My guess is that the title could be Kamen's Highlander or Bill Conti's The Right Stuff. If you count the release of the symphonic suite of The Right Stuff this might exclude this one. Trent B 337
My guess is that the title could be Kamen's Highlander or Bill Conti's The Right Stuff.Hmm Highlander did have an excellent release at the time and I don't think it's really ever had a proper stand alone score treatment. I wouldn't mind hearing Kamen's full score for this. I know there's a boot out there but the sound quality sucks ass.
TownerFan 4,983
From what I know, a full Highlander OST was never released. The Queen's songs were released partly on their "A Kind of Magic" album, but Kamen's score never saw the light of the day, at least officially. Trent B 337
If Kamen's full score was ever to be released I wonder if they'd include the Queen songs.
Koray Savas 2,251
I don't get why they don't just frickin' tell us what they're releasing. What's the point of withholding it until it's available for order? It's called pre-order.
Goldsmithfan 6
I raised this question on the Intrada message board. I was promptly given the answer that sometimes things fall through at the last minute so there's no point in name dropping if, two weeks later, they can't even release it. Koray Savas 2,251
I guess that makes sense, but how often does that happen?
Ollie 1,059
Yes it's been explained time after time.Intrada has a set schedule for their releases, that way everyone knows what time to be there. They give out clues because it's something fun and most people enjoyed guessing.I guess that makes sense, but how often does that happen?Well it just happened with LaLaLand on one of their releases. And Varese has had several CDs announced on their upcoming release schedule only to pull/cancel them.
Jay 37,359
Which LLL and Varese CDs are those?
Ollie 1,059
The LaLaLand was the third Librarian scotre they had announced. As far as Varese goes it was few scores from the last couple of years, and they were regular releases.
Richard Penna 3,687
Given how much money they must invest in older releases though, it must take some pretty big problems to prevent one at the last minute. And again, I can easily picture these being legal issues. #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
but Kamen's score never saw the light of the day, at least officially.Incorrect. Five cues fom Kamen's score were released on this legit compilation
Ollie 1,059
Well Roger gave some more clues:http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.ph...sc&start=75Here's a couple of clues for you: One is a 1960s United Artists western that finally gets its due. It's not a world premiere release. It's not an expansion. But it's getting its proper due. For the other, Let's Get Small!I'm gonna guess is something from composer Michael Small. Can't be Innerspace because it's already been released and Doug somewhat shot down Honey I Shrunk The Kids.
