The Pure Score To Picture Thread

Recommended Posts

Inspired by Bloodboal's thread, I thought there would maybe be some interest to put pure score to scenes, and take out all the dialogue, and sound effects to enjoy the music fully?

I started a project way back ago, but I could not get all the edits exact, but it is still enjoyable to watch ;)

Here are a few I did ages ago for fun:

Test Drive from How to Train Your Dragon

The Might of Rome from Gladiator

War from Avatar

Edit: How do I embed the clips.. hmm, special BBCode doesn't work :(

You have to check the "Enable HTML" box on the right when editing your post, then insert the <iframe> code (that you get when you select "Embed this video" in Google Docs) in your post.

Hm, I only get a normal link in Google Docs, not a iframe code. How do I get that code that I need to insert after I have enabled html? I have only embeded YouTube clips before so this is new for me.

If you click on 'embed this video' under the 'file' tab of your video's page, you'll get the <iframe> code.

When you are on the page of the video (while being logged in), click on "File" (upper left corner), then select "Embed this video". You'll then get the <iframe> code.

EDIT: Damn you, Alexander!

This day shall be long remembered as the day whereupon BloodBoal was ninja'd.

How about The Enterprise, with all the pesky dialogue and sound effects removed? ;)

But being serious, hmm... I think I would love certain scenes from Lost given this treatment. I don't know why, but that's what I first thought of.

And the Great Duel from TPM, properly cut, and done like a real ballet as John envisioned.

This looks like fun.

Here's African Rundown from Casino Royale. It's more of an iso score than an actual score restoration, since all the music that was on the album was in the film. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm not sure if this deserves yet another The Lord of the Rings thread, so here is the entire A Journey in the Dark/The Bridge of Khazad-Dûm sequence from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring with the music isolated. Please do enjoy!

Not quite true. African Rundown has some percussion inserts that are not on the OST.

You read Mr. B wrong - he said "all the music that was on the album was in the film", not "all the music that was in the film was on the album". Anyways, if you watch his video you will see a part in the middle with "music unreleased" over it.

Yeah, man. Learn to read!

Anyway, I did my best to match it. After the "music unreleased" bit, there's also some music repeated from when Bond enters the embassy. It appears to be how it is in the film, though.

I'm quite enjoying this. I'm thinking of doing a score restore for The Empire Strikes Back, quite like the The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey videos by BloodBoal. Could be fun.
