If this is Sony, it beggars the question: why aren't they doing that for the prequel films? There'll be something for the people who liked Kiner's music though (such as myself).

Clone Wars TV Series - the Ultimate Edition! = ultimate disappointment.

Personally, I hope they pull together a 6-disc set rather than just a single disc.

I really like (the majority of) the tracks Kiner posted on his website, but what he posted already amounts to more than what one disc could hold. Thus, a single disc most likely wouldn't have anything that Kiner hasn't already released himself, and there are *plenty* of cool cues that remain unreleased. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

It's possible that Kiner's statement about 'a CD' wasn't strictly in the sense of only a single disc - more the concept of 'a CD', regardless of how many discs.

If this had been complete scores to the entire series I'd be sure Sony has something against JWfans

I would guess that arranging a release of this is probably easier and cheaper than Williams'.

I've said in the past that maybe JW himself doesn't want expansions, but on reflection, if a label had tried and been turned down, I think we'd know about that.

More likely IMO that Sony doesn't want a limited market for expansions, so there's no drive to get the material released.

I think a 6-disc set would sell terribly. 1-2 discs will likely be what is financially viable. I look forward to hearing the highlights of the series, though, including the Ahsoka material from the end of season 5.

I'd be very surprised if all the Ahsoka arc wasn't included. I think i read Kinder paid for those recording sessions himself. The music really stands out in those episodes as a result, especially the final episode which was a real heart breaker.

I love the music for the Ahsoka arc as well! However, that would be my issue with a one- or two-disc release. While probably some of the best of the series, the music for that arc already totals about 40 minutes, which would almost take up a whole disc, leaving hardly any room for anything else. In addition, Kiner has already posted those tracks on his website:

1. Buzz Droids
2. Jedi Eulogy
3. Running For a Ship
4. Anakin Wants Her Alive
5. Fugitive In the Sewers
6. Wish Me Luck
7. Coruscant Runner
8. Runaway Elevator
9. Send Out the Probes
10. The New Ventress
11. Mystery Attacker
12. Lightsaber Duel on Level 1315
13. Ahsoka Is Captured
14. Jedi Council Hearing
15. Entering the Chambers
16. Questioning Barriss
17. Duel In the Jedi Temple
18. The Truth Emerges
19. Ahsoka's Decision
20. Anakin Talks to Ahsoka

While I would want more of the unreleased material, I honestly wouldn't blame them for including these tracks (plus a few more from the rest of the series) on a single disc.

40 minutes does not "almost take up a whole disc." It takes up exactly half of one, since, y'know, most discs run for up to 80 minutes...

I was just thinking that since most discs don't always fill exactly 80 minutes... Personally, I wouldn't want half of the soundtrack coming from just 4 out of 121 episodes, especially when that half is already available. I would like to have as much unreleased material as possible...

I'd be happy with 1-2 discs of series highlights and then an Ahsoka arc bonus disc or something. I know the Ahsoka stuff is online but it would be nice to have it on CD in better quality.

I don't think track selection of any release is going to be determined by which tracks the composer posted to his website - they'll do what they believe to be a good presentation of the series' highlights. This release seemed like a longshot to me in the first place, so I'm happy it's happening at all - so you know they won't be saving any of the best tracks for a future release :)

I agree about the track selection--I was just hoping/wishing out loud. And yeah, I really didn't think this release was ever going to happen, either. When Kiner posted those tracks to his website, I thought that was sort of a casual way of saying that there wouldn't be an official release. So I'm just happy this will eventually exist! :)

The other DVD sets for the show came out around October, so maybe this will come out around then to coincide with some kind of a "Complete Series" DVD/Blu-Ray set. I hope it does, if not sooner!

I think it might actually be slightly later this time around. They won't want it competing for publicity with Rebels which is starting in October. I think we might see a release early next year. Hope I'm wrong though!

Oh, good point. Or what if they use the publicity for the previous animated series to drum up interest in the new animated series? Hmm... I don't know. I could see it going either way.

The Netflix deal may muss with it too - DVDs for Netflix shows sometimes don't get released for a longer period of time than non-Netflix shows. Arrested Development Season 4 still doesn't have a release date and it came out in May 2013. Orange is the New Black S1 took almost a year to come out on DVD. Netflix probably negotiates that timeframe when they pick up a show to capitalize on their exclusivity.

I think both parties knew that the money to be made from this was instantly. You'd have far more interest in brand new episodes that couldn't be seen anywhere else. Netflix would bring in a lot of new potential customers who came for Clone Wars and might stick around when they saw what else was available. Anyone who wanted to watch it was going to do so straight away.

Unfortunate, since I really want the music from the Alderaan episode.

starwars.com also releases a cue from each episode of Rebels.

I meant to mention those Rebels cues here sooner. I think they are pretty good, but they do quote Williams more than I think they should. Hopefully that trend will wear off as the series continues...

It's definitely less frequent now than in the first few episodes, but still in every episode. A recent episode about a TIE Fighter chase resolved with a quote of some of the non-thematic TPM Tatooine music, weirdly (it worked well as score for the particular moment, but as a quote/reference to a previous score it wasn't really meaningful).

The fact that Disney is bothering with a TCW score gives me hope that they will release Rebels scores - digital or disc, I'd just be happy to get them.

Could be some tracking as well.

Yeah, I've noticed that, too. I don't mind quoting, but only if it's relevant to the scene it accompanies. If Kanan or Ezra uses the Force, then I think the Force theme is fine. If Wookiees hug, I don't think Leia's theme really works...

I think the fact that someone even includes a cue on the Star Wars website after an episode airs is a sign that someone, somewhere, is thinking about the score. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a release once the season ends!

This is on Amazon now for just $5. http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Seasons-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B00OSCR4AK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420812870&sr=8-1&keywords=clone+wars+kiner

I bought it for completism's sake, but really does nothing for me. Just a muddy layer of sound that goes nowhere from start to finish.

Does anyone know which episode each track comes from?
