  1. One of the most interesting videos I’ve watched in a long time. Thank you for creating and posting it here. Looking forward to watching your other videos and any future ones. Keep up the good work!
  2. Yes. I actually think it might be a bit more than vibes in only these tracks, as I feel that Helena’s theme and Sabrina share some similarities, which are are easier to spot when Helena’s theme is used in action mode with proper instrumentation and maybe even some piano solo on the top of it. But keep in mind that I’m the one who keeps hearing Obi-Wan at ‘The Airport’ (0:16->). 😂
  3. Am I the only one, who is looking around and trying to locate Obi-Wan at The Airport (Track 14), as I hear him constantly sneaking around me in the form of some sneaky ostinatos in the background? And just for the record, doesn't bother me at all, just sharing the notion.
  4. Is anyone else re-listening to the tracks in sync with KM just to enjoy his reactions and comments? For me he has always represented some kind of mystery power and authority in this shared community of ours. There are of course many other prominent and notable members, but still, even if I don't always agree with him, and sometimes even worry about him stressing about all the unreleased cues, and whether or not we we will live to see the music missing from the OST in our life time, I'm still a big fan of his [comments and views]. A true JW Fan if I may say so!! @King Mark
  5. I'm with KM on this one. Whether or not it is a result of temp tracking, it is a nice track as it's own. Just to add some more thought and/or confusion, I mentally re-visited HA and the Wet Bandits on my fist listen during the first minute of this particular track...
  6. Listening to the soundtrack now. I'm at track 7 (Tuk Tuk in Tangiers), and I have to say that I'm not a bit disappointed. I can hear the 'been there done that' stuff maybe mentioned or referenced by some of you, whether it is TLC or Tintin etc, but so what? Listen to any great composer and there is the signature sound that can and will always be recognised. Of course there is a huge difference between direct lifting or tracking of old stuff into a new movie, but I found the tintinesque bits, as an example, enjoyable rather than annoying or disappointing.
  7. I'm in no way affiliated with this event or the organizations responsible for arranging it, but still wanted to share this information! The Vantaa Orchestra is having a three concert festival starting this weekend at the Helsinki Music Centre (Musiikkitalo). As of now tickets are still available (got mine today)..!! The orchestra and the concert hall are really good, even by international standards and hey have performed multiple John Williams themed concerts in the past years. This is the first multi concert festival consisting of three consecutive concerts for the next three weeks. Highly recommended! 8. Just got here after a long day. Please PM me if there is a way to get this. Can't find it anywhere...
  9. Just saw the film. I think it was great! Haven't listened to the soundtrack yet, but the music that was used in the film, was very effective! In my opinion all of the material that was inspired (lifted, rehashed, or what ever you want or need to call it) by previous SW scores served a purpose and worked well in the film. All returning themes from TFA also worked well and were needed, and I heard many many variations of those themes. And the new music was excellent, for example Roses theme was very uplifting and fresh, and finally the music was LOUD in a positive way, so I guess that means the mix was way better than in TFA. I'm so happy, that the soundtrack didn't leak before I saw and heard this in a theatre, one of my best movie going experienses ever! --Snowster
  10. I found something on YouTube, I don't know it this is legit or not. Apparently Universal Music Africa (?) has uploaded a trailer for the soundtrack. Doesn't contain any new music, but I'm not sure about the video footage if it contains anything not yet seen in the movie trailers. The YouTube page also contains a weird link ("Download or Stream here") which takes you to another page where you can choose streaming between Apple Music and Google Play, but it seems (as of now) those links only take you to the place holder pages of those services. Maybe this was just posted too early, and there is nothing (except the trailer video) to see here, or even worse this is scam. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Trailer) Place holder page for streaming links (?) Edit: found another one: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Trailer), "short version, different music". Please forgive me if this turns out to be spam or scam etc. --Snowster
  11. Well, I’m puzzled. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. But according to my 11 year old son, after our very first listen, “this is definitely John Williams”! :-D
  12. "Apple plans to create 10 new episodes of "Amazing Stories" alongside Amblin and NBC Universal, with plans to spend more than $5 million per episode. Spielberg is likely to be an executive producer for the new version of the show, according to The Wall Street Journal's sources." https://www.macrumors.com/2017/10/10/apple-steven-spielberg-amazing-stories/ What do you think, are they going to use the original theme? Is Steven Spielberg going to direct the pilot? Will John Williams create a new theme for the "new" series and/or will he score the pilot? --Snowster
  13. I believe it is actually 'Daydreams' by Abel Korzeniowski.
