They won't.

By the time that need becomes necessary, these films will have become unfashionable.

One of them should already be dead for the Civil War storyline to resemble the comics. However, since the X-Men won't be involved, other specifics of the comics can be altered.

Age of Ultron only took the name of a storyline from the comics and nothing else. Civil War could be the same. They're not really trying to adapt old stories in these movies; They are drawing inspiration from them while doing their own thing.

Has any MCU film been a totally faithful adaptation so far?

Not even close.

You could completely remove the Winter Soldier character from that film and still have a completely acceptable movie.

I know and understand all that. But the death of a key Avenger was a huge controversy in pop culture when they killed him in that comic storyline in the last few years when it was written. Of course, it can change. He's more of a set of ideals anyways.

The Avengers are going to have to get younger at some point. Scarlet Witch, Spider-man, etc. Think RDJ at 60 years old or older, or Ruffalo pushing 60, in 10-12 years is going to work? Marvel is steadily building their arsenal but they're running out of well-known brand recognized superheros, building on their MCU with tertiary characters the majority of non-comic reading fans don't really car about in the same way.

You can either flip the characters by substitution; that is, have other characters carry the torch under the guise of an established hero, à la Sam Wilson as Captain America, or the female Thor.

Or rotate in a new set of Avengers; Captain Marvel, Spider-man, Wasp, etc

Or a combination of the two options.

In 2025 you could legitimately have a revamped Avengers movie with:

Captain America (Sam Wilson)

Thor (female)

Spider-man

Captain Marvel

Scarlet Witch

Black Panther

That gives you some nice diversity that we haven't seen.

Whedon wanted Captain Marvel and Spider-man to be New Avengers at the end of the film

Whedon had to fight Marvel to keep Scarlet Witches dream sequences in the film, and still a lot got cut

I agree with Dutchman. This film is suffering from Hobbititis (Jacksonitis?). More footage would probably improve things. And I bet there is more Ultron in there as well.

I really liked dream sequences, wish they were longer. I'd go as far as saying they are the most visually interesting aspects of any Marvel film so far.

Interesting that he passingly references his complaints about the music in that article.

"As much as I was like, 'We didn’t get this, we didn’t get this, this is sloppy, and I’m not happy with that music cue...'"

It's so weird. It's seems like he was happy with Tyler's score, and the producers brought in Elfman and redid everything... But Elfman's music sounds more like what I would have thought Whedon would like and Tyler's music sounds more like what a studio exec would think bring in. It's all odd.

It's a movie alright. I give it a C -. What a mess. Dave liked it much more than I did. He liked that the Hulk had a hairy chest. Evan Peters had nothing to worry about.

He might be talking about Tyler's cue. Or even Silvestri's tracked one? Because Elfman's theme is being replaced at that very moment.

Besides, he doesn't necessarily has to mean that particular cue. He basically says (in the podcast) that he had some complaints here and there (and that's where he mentions music) but that particular moment was exactly as he planned it.

Michael Bay directed this right? Sure looks like it. I'm glad Cap't America didn't die in this. He deserves to dies in a much better film. Maybe Iron Man can kill him in Civil War. My one concession on the film is it did justice to the Hawkeye or the archer, whatever he's called, and it's not MOS bad.

So... I was watching a video review of the film, and the reviewer came up with an interesting comment: Vision has one of the Infinity Stones in his forehead, and surely, Thanos will at some point gather all the Infinity Stones... Does that mean Vision is doomed? :(

Pretty much. Hopefully he'll get more screentime before then. Paul Bettany sounds pretty cool in the role.

So where are the 6 Infinity stones right now? The Guardians have one. One is in Vision's head. One is in the Tesseract.

Nope. There are six infinity stones. Adam Warlock was wearing one on his foreheard in Infinity War, if I remember correctly.

KK, there is the tessaract, Loki's staff, Aether thing for second Thor, and the thing from GOTG.
