What is the last Television series you watched?

Why not?

It has the potential of being good. And it's not like the original was ever a faultless masterpiece

I'm not saying it can't.

But I do also believe that making a true classic has something to do with right place and time.

And yeah, both The Wire and Breaking Bad very pretty much faultless.

Even Breaking Bad suffers from small universe syndrome a bit at times

Surely not of the same scale as "young Greedo wrestling Anakin" in The Phantom Menace?

I had some issues with Breaking Bad at first. But then, someone on here pointed out to me, quite rightfully, it's more like Cohen brothers TV series. It's not supposed to be realistic or entirely plausible. And that made me buy it entirely.

Hmm, maybe I should rewatch Breaking Bad with that in mind, since that was my main problem with the series - how it seemed to just make things up as it goes along.

The Wire on the other hand is just majestic TV. Epic and intimate in the same breadth.

I watched the pilot of Fargo. Pretty good and I'll continue with it, but I'm still not convinced by Freeman's acting ability. He has a very small range: nervous and anxious. He's that in everything I've ever seen him in.

Allison Tolman is fantastic! She and Billy Bob Thornton are the ones who shine most in the show. Freeman is great too.

Fargo is good stuff.

Started Curb Your Enthusiasm again last night, blitzed through the first 3 episodes (it's just as funny the second time around) and it was a nice surprise when I now realised the third instalment's 'Porno Gil' was in fact a young Bob Odenkirk.

Checked out the first episode of The Fall and it's not bad at all. Might continue to watch this. Is this Netflix's answer to True Detectives?

The Fall is a British show. Just happens to be on Netflix in the US.

And the show is pretty good but not great. The parts with Gillian Anderson investigating a serial killer are good, some good characters on her team too.

The parts where you're just watching the killer stalk, torture, and kill his next victim get old real fast.

You think?

There had never been more than one calendar year off in between seasons before; we're currently in year 4 since the last one. I think he's done.

Halfway through the second episode and I'm already getting bored with it.

I wonder what they'll do for the next season.

If there is one! I think this is the longest David has gone between seasons.

I've heard there would be a second season. Was I dreaming?

Quint and Koray and I are talking about Curb Your Enthusiasm.

You're talking about Fargo.

What are you talking about? Koray DID use quotes. He read your post and assumed you were talking about Fargo, not Curb Your Enthusiasm, because post #8575 was about Curb Your Enthusiasm and then you made post #8576 about Fargo, WITHOUT quoting the EARLIER posts about Fargo, making anyone reading the thread assume YOU were talking about Curb Your Enthusiasm as well, in your post. It's very simple.

Now that you mention it, Koray did use quotes, which tells me I did nothing wrong with asking if there will be a second season of Fargo. And still you're going on about Quintus. I feel like I'm in abstract movie or something.

You read our posts that were clearly talking about Curb Your Enthusiasm and somehow thought we were talking about Fargo.
