I'm just curious - how do we know that he wanted it? Did he ever say it himself? Giveh the man's humbleness, I somehow seriously doubt that ... Or is it "Oh come on it's obvious we all know how badly he wanted it" kind of thing? He was advertising this Soundtrack like never one of his before. He performed "Sayuri's Theme" together with Yo-Yo Ma in the "Tonight Show", also he released an itunes exclusive suite of the Soundtrack with him on the pno and yo yo ma. I think several users here will agree that he did care more about winning an Oscar for that one than for any others in the recent past. well maybe "So badly" was a bit exagerated/but maybe not. and by the way he clearly deserved it that year - easily the best effort of the nominees. I completely agree with you. Plus, it was the only movie he ever asked to score out of his whole career thus far. Congratulations Maestro for this win! One has to wonder where you keep all your awards?

YouTube videos were posted recently from another concert and were promoted on the homepage, so considering that you aren't out of line at all. Thanks for your posts and the Dracula thing. Anyway it was great to hear Williams revisit an often neglected and perhaps near-forgotten score (by him). How did Williams look? Still fit as a fiddle? Williams looked really well, he was smiling a lot, and looked to be 'as fit as a fiddle'. :-)

Perhaps the best way to judge whether Williams is a 'great man', is to see how others who personally know him describe his character. Along with his inferiors, both past and present.

irrelevant? It was obsolete. Piano was big...this is shortly before Stephen Fosters death. They were publishing piano music by the barrelful by now. If anything, though, JW will probably go with the African American Spiritual sound, I'm thinking. Or the solo violin.... A solo violin would be very nice to have, in my opinion. If Williams were to do that he probably would offer Perlman the solo. They always collaborate nicely together.

I've been trying that, but it still comes back with a negative answer. I think I just have to figure out the correct combination of what firewalls to put down. Thanks for the suggestion!

No I definately said please... even though he doesn't own the recording And he implied he was sick of sending stuff to loads of users, so I was helping him out by offering to edit the recording, share it with those who want it, and put it on youtube so everyone can view it in the forums. here easily. Could someone who knows him email him and ask (nicely) if he's going to share the file? Don't worry, I have been trying to upload the file. My computer is not letting me though...for some reason I think it has to do with all the protection I have on it. I'm going to try something in the next few days. And if that doesn't work then I am truly sorry!! If it makes anyone feel any better I haven't really listened to it. And for those who offered to help me edit thank you so much! Hello everyone who PM me or left a message on here concerning a copy of the Tanglewood recording! I wanted to give you all an update, as I'm sure you are all waiting with baited breath to hear it, so you wouldn't think I forgot about everyone. I have been going through and editing the recording, which is surprisingly taking a good amount of time since life likes to get in the way. But I seem to have hit a slight snag, as far as uploading it, which I am looking into. Right now my computer is refusing to upload it to Megaupload or Rhapsody... and I believe I know why, I just have to see how to get around this new problem. So, I am sorry to keep everyone hanging, I am trying my hardest to get it uploaded but my computer is not cooperating. And for everyone's sake I hope I can get it uploaded.
