  1. Have you tried cleaning the disc with a cloth or even washing it? I hear in other forums this helps a lot with your problem.. Now, that you mention it, I also have Close Encounters, and I wonder if it has gone bad...
  2. See here, Excised final chapter: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picnic_at_Hanging_Rock_(novel)
  3. I see the (US) blu-ray of that one is also OOP and is going high at ebay!
  4. Just purchased a used Nixon blu-ray (Kino edition - includes both theatrical and director's cut) for 118 euros from ebay!! (It's OOP, that's why the price is steep)
  5. Very good theme for a religious TV film, by Frisina, and overall a quite good score.
  6. Oh, sorry, I didn't think about it. I will edit my post ASAP!
  7. What the thread's title says. If you can post youtube links starting with the theme, even better. (I know it's a bit of a hassle, but it's not mandatory) Main theme from A Single Man Catwoman theme from Batman Returns Love theme from Dracula Wedding theme from Braveheart Main theme from The Piano Esther/Love theme from Ben-Hur Main theme from Princess Mononoke Main theme from Jesus of Nazareth Main theme from The Last of the Mohicans Main theme from Star Trek
  8. Well, I like the slow romantic theme, but the rest from what I remember is sound design-y and some upbeat techno stuff and such.. That's why I said it was an unusual choice. I thought you liked mainly orchestral music.
  9. Is there a top 10 overall favorite film music themes thread? Or I should start one? Although, again, I'd like it to be a non-Williams thread, because I'm sure for most of us Williams would dominate our lists.
  10. I just won this in an ebay auction for €64.36 (incl. shipping and VAT). It's my favorite of the Mad Max films. I didn't like the first one, and I cannot remember the second. Maybe I should watch it again?
  11. Well, I always watch the theatrical cut first, to see what the audiences experienced at the time of release. Although, not having the whole wave thing plot in the end, I was left with questions in the end. I mean I felt "this is it?"
  12. A 1957 film with Elizabeth Taylor, and Montgomery Clift, Gone with the wind like. It's included in the 100 essential film scores of the 20th century. https://www.americanmusicpreservation.com/100filmscores.htm It holds a special place in my heart because it was the first soundtrack I've ever heard (I mean as an album, apart from the picture) and the reason I'm now a film music lover. I also think the Love theme is my favorite love theme ever! (more even than any of Williams's love themes)
