#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
It is by no means a given that Shore will score anything but PJ's LOTR films. Just hope he uses JW for Tintin Once
crocodile 7,984
Hopefully, Goldenthal will get to record his opera sooner than later. He did record some stuff in Krakow so maybe this trend continues.Karol
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Didnt it flop?
crocodile 7,984
The opera? Yeah, it kind of did. They did two performances, I think. And no one bothered to record it properly, not counting some vocal elements and small camera like video recording of one night performance. So no real material exists anywhere. Sadly. Don Davis at least has a CD recording of his. But, as I said, Goldenthal recorded some stuff in Poland last year and it's relatively cheap to do it, so who knows.Karol
Jim Ware 526
On the subject of opera, a recording of Shore's The Fly would not go amiss.

Sharkissimo 1,973
Then they're idiots. DEAD RINGERS is a wonderful film - Cronenberg's masterpiece.I'd really to see see SCANNERS restored though, very underrated Shore score. The quality of the bootlegs are terrible. Jim Ware 526
Dead Ringers is the most satisfying expansion of the three and the most accessible (also the only one presented chronologically). The additional tracks from Crash aren't essential but do present interesting takes on the material (First Crash, Hangar, the piano demo). I'm not a big fan of Naked Lunch and the expansion has done little to change that! Jay
crocodile 7,984
Dead Ringers is indeed the best of those. It's a surprisingly tender and gentle score for a Cronenberg film. And because of 43 minutes running time it never outstays its welcome.Unlike Jim, I do like Naked Lunch. But the expansion changes very little.Karol
Jim Ware 526
I need to be in a very specific state of mind to appreciate Naked Lunch. Copious quantities of booze tend to assist. Gnome in Plaid

KK 3,307
Have you heard the Cell by any chance?I've only heard a cue from Naked Lunch.
