I don't really like the JP3 adaptions that much, but the above one isn't bad (forgot about it)

That's the little Jeep motif that Williams didn't even expand upon in his own score. And I remember it's the first bit we ever heard during a Superbowl commercial

I remember on opening day when the Jurassic Park /// end credits started. The terrible rendition of the fanfare was like piss icing on the shit cake that was the movie.

I'm not a fan of the adaptations either. At least there's some good action music.

The problem with the rest of the quotations is they're too fast, but that one and Allen and Ellie are at a good tempo.

It's been a while since I've seen JP3. I'll have to listen to it again to get an idea of the cue you're talking about.

btw, does anyone else besides me have a positive reaction to Kevin Kiner's treatment of the Star Wars cues in Clone Wars and most recently Rebels?

Night Skies from The Shadows of the Empire is absolutely wonderful. McNeely's take on Imperial March and The Force theme is beautifully handled.

No.

Can I ask why not?

There is an old Vulcan proverb. Only Williams could score Star Wars.

That is almost as sacrilegious, using ST and SW in two consecutive sentences.

Oh and strictly speaking Night Skies isn't actually adapting a cue. It is taking existing themes and using them in a new original way.

So basically, the conductor re-interprets how it should sound while keeping the same instrumentation of the score?

We should ask King Mark. He is the one who started this thread. What are the parameters and distinguishing features of an adapted cue?

I think such a progressive attitude should be applauded, and embraced.

Why just a mere cross over when you can get a reunion of several sci-fi franchises!

So which one in the cartoon is Arthur Dent and friends, or did that sci-fi universe not make the cut here?

Look under the floorboards and you'll find out.

But I don't have floorboards in my house. ^_^

At any rate, I don't get it.

I remember seeing this when I was a kid and it even had The Rocketeer himself flying around with narration by Vincent Price. 3:00 or so in various Williams iconic themes appear. Hey, it was pretty awesome combined with the fireworks!

Why did he use the Smallville theme instead of the main march?

What are you talking about? I heard the March in that video.
