I think the actual CD can still be found and at accessible prices.That's true, and it's an interesting take, but I prefer the original Stan Kenton recording myself (the rest of the CD is pretty damn good too -- contemporary classical music meets big band jazz).. That's a statement, that's a Work with a big W (Oeuvre in french).JW' "Prelude and fugue"... a unique name, without key, not numbered, represents, and correct me if I'm wrong, a kind of work pretty unique among his concert works. It's why I call it an 'exercice in style'.Over the years, JW rather seemed to favor the concerto form, at least, it's the kind of work he agrees to publish...
