Jurassic World (Jurassic Park 4)

There are some plans for Jurassic Park IV. Spielberg seems to have a great idea, though director is yet to be announced.
He said in a recent interview, that if it is made, it will be the last film in the series.
I suppose that means that all the dinosaurs will die or something.
It seems interesting to see an ending of the Jurassic Park series once and for all.

If there will be a JP4, do you think Williams will score it??

... I think there will be at least some under-water-dinosaurs?

Yeah, another thing, that could be funny: George Lucas directing JP4 with underwater-dinosaurs and copy/paste of music fram "Jaws"...

But the difference is all the other Indy films have been great :music: Indy is like a deity of film and I place different standards on anything to do with it.

There was a past report that said that the fourth movie would "ignore the story line of jp3" or something like that. Whatever they have in it, I'm sure it'll be interesting, and I'll see it no matter what. And I doubt it will be scored by Williams. If he didn't want to do JP3, that means that he doesn't want to score any more dino films. Don Davis will probably score the fourth movie.

We need to get dinosaurs that look like the A.I aliens now    :music:

BTW, this A.I. aliens look like the Clone-Producer-Aliens in AOTC...

I think one of the reasons he didn't score JP3 was because Spielberg wasn't directing. I bet if Spielberg took this project, then Williams would score it.

I'd read in multiple places that Williams had to pass on JP3 because his comittment to score A.I. made it impossible to score both films (due to the close proximity of production/release). Not sure if that's how Williams' saw it, but a handful of reports said as much.

If there is a Jurassic Park IV, I only want one person to score it. Everyone else, to me, will fail at the task. That's because I'm not open to many new ideas when it comes to music and John Williams. :)

Please please dont make a Jurassic Park 4

I did'nt even go and see 3. Seemed like a nightmare on elmstreet scenario.

Next they'll have an Aliens scenario where a bunch of marines go in and kick dino-butt

If Spielberg & Williams do it, I'm interested.

If not, I could care less. I didn't like 3, but loved the 1st 2. Films and scores.

Well I really hate The Lost World, they really ruined the saga with that one. Whose idea was it to fill the island with machos in motorbikes and have them running around dinosaurs? Not Michael Crichton's, methinks. Actually, I like JP3 over TLW because it doesn't try to be BIGGER and LOUDER and LONGER than any of the other ones: it didn't really have much ambition and that I like.

I love the first Jurassic. It's the best fantasy Spielberg film from the 90's. But if you look at it coolly, you see how many mistakes it has. It's really the same reason why I like this new Star Wars trilogy over the original one. Sure, coolly Empire Strikes Back is WAY BETTER than The Phantom Menace but not for me. For the mere reason that I wasn't there when ESB came out, but I was here when TPM opened. I was intoxicated by the magic of the film, the merchandise, etc. It's something you can't get from a VHS or DVD.

It's that simple: I was intoxicated by JP1's magic and spectularity. TLW was the same techincally, only it lacked that magic.

Well, Sam Neill's comments got me REALLY intrigued about the movie. Is Williams confirmed too? He said he's interested

CharlesK - Who would love another Williams action movie soundtrack

I hope it's not a repeat of the crap they did in JP III. I can't take another dissapointment like that. But I'll see it reguardless of how it looks.

Is Dr grant in this movie or not? I didnt understood Neill's comment very well.

Luke, thinking Alan Grant is the best Character from the JP franchise.

If you think, ************SPOILER***************

Malcom in the lost world does not fit well. He was supposed dead and he was resucited ->that was a little unbelievable. Furthermore the book sotry is about Malcom and Levine interested on extiction. BUt in the end Malcom only was, and Levine was more interested in DIno behavior. It would had more sense to have Levine (biologist) interested in extiction and Grant (paleontologist) interested in dinos' behaviour.

**************END OF SPOILER***************

Romao, whose childhood movie is most certainly Jurassic Park

too bad your childhood was in the wrong time period for instant classics and film scores in general.

Well, I also grew up with Indiana Jones, Star Wars and E.T, but I didn't watched them in the theater until the special editions.

I did have the chance to sse Jurassic Park and Batman in the theater as a kid, and believe, those experiences left deep marks.

Romao, who is also an absolute Batman fanatic.

Spielberg will direct it as he had an incredible idea that made him to begin a fourth Jurassic Park.

And I bet he will choose John for the music.

I am already impatient to know what kind of idea Steven had !

Well, at leats I had the chance to experience an equally good John Williams, and Danny Elfman and James Newton Howard on top form.

ARE YOU MAD? Comparing them to Goldsmith and Horner?? :)

I think the story would be that because of the way they were created, with the DNA of a more advanced creature (frog), these dinosaurs are far more advanced than the original ones and are evolving very rapidly and spreading throught the world.

There will be increasing reports of people killed in the suburbs by strange creatures. If we don't stop them, dinosaurs will reclaim their predominance over to world. Then it comes the ethical question: should we exterminate an species because they will become more intelligent than us?

Sorry, I'm fantasizing about this since thread was opened. I want spielberg do more action/aventure movies!! He's just great at that and the last bit of action he gave in minority was too short. I'm also eager to listen how Williams will evolve the musical ideas and instrumentation he introduced in JP and LW.

I wonder if they'll finaly use that chameleon like Dinosaur from The Lost World book. I thought it was scary and would translate well to film.

 Firstly, how advanced a species is doesn't matter. What matters is survival and advanced species just tend to be better at that, they can be worse. And how are dino's going to take over the world when have technology and they don't? LOL Sounds like a silly and very B grade idea for a move to me.

 Sorry but:

Anphibians evolved from fish, reptiles from anphibians, dinosaurs and mammals from reptiles, and aves from dinosaurs. So dinosaurs are more evolved than frogs.

Just to be pedant :(

Ocelot: i was also annoyed by the fact that the Carnotaurus Sastrei :sigh: dindt appeared in the movie. But i read the the book (again ) two days ago and realised that the Carnotaur scene had no action! The 1st time i read the book i was so amazed that it had a lot impact on me, but not i see it was not THAT great. But i would like to them :) . Maybe we have to thanks Disney to use the Carnotaur in their movi 'Dinosaur', who maybe stops Universal using it for fear to be criticised of plagius. :) I think they made the JPIII Ceratosaurus in echange...

Was there a Ceratosaurus in JPIII?

I remember the Spynosaurus, of course, but the Ceratosuarus is a quite peculiar theropoda, with a horn above his mouth, kinda like a rhino. In what scene was he seen?

Romao, who love the chapter of the Carnotaurus in TLW novel.
