  1. While I do consider myself to be a fan of JW, I don't have any need to fawn over every note.. but at the same time, I also don't feel the need to go completely nuts when I don't like the music. As many people here do. It's one thing to not like the music in question.. it's completely different to start these holy crusades about it. I think a lot of it has to do with what this score is for... This is little different than the "Lucas-bashing" that goes on on many message boards. You don't like the films. That's all it is. And since this is a JW message board, you complain about the score as well as the film. And yet, as I said, you'll all go see the film, and you'll all go buy the soundtrack and the DVD. As I said... hypocrisy at it's finest. Oh, sure, you'll say "I'll never see or buy this tripe", but you know as well as I that there's no way we can prove whether you do or don't. And many of you who say this will see/buy it anyway. I've seen it happen time and time again. This is no different.
  2. Now, the first thing someone's going to say is "Who the hell are you, newbie, to question us?" To which my retort will be: Who the hell are YOU to complain about a soundtrack that: A) 90+% of you haven't even heard a single cue from B) 100% of you haven't seen the film in question. And anyone who believes a soundtrack can stand on it's own without the film it was written for, needs to be shot. Yes, I'm referring to the ROTS soundtrack. The film that's going to "suck", even though none of you have seen it.... The soundtrack that "sucks", even though most of you have never heard it. Let me ask a simple question: Why do you feel that you have a right to tell Williams what to do with his score? What gives you the all-powerful knowledge of how a movie should be, or how a soundtrack will be, when NOT A SINGLE ONE OF YOU has ANY clue what actually goes into ANY of it? There's one ONE person who has ANY right to complain about the music, and that's Lucas. For the simple reason that he's the one that paid Williams to create it. Who the hell are you to say otherwise? If you don't like it, DON'T BUY IT. Contrary to popular belief, it REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE. There is no reason whatsoever to sit here on these forums and complain and complain and complain and complain and complain and complain and complain and complain and complain and complain and complain. How long have you folks been complaining about this score? Seriously.... and how long will you continue to complain about it? Months.... You're all a bunch of hypocrites, I say. You complain endlessly about the film and the soundtrack, and yet you'll buy the soundtrack the instant it's released, you'll see the film a dozen times in theatres, and you'll buy the DVD as soon as it's in stores. And this is different from a fanboy.... how? And you'll probably complain the whole while, too... like they've really got a gun to your head forcing you to buy the stuff. Puleeze. My point is that this is the "John Williams FAN Network" And you people aren't fans. Might as well go find the "John Williams MUST DIE" forum and post there to your heart's content.
