Sweeping Strings 2,352
I never believed the Lewis rumours. He'll be in his late 40s by the time Craig has fulfilled his contract by making Bond 25, and I just don't see an actor making his Bond debut at 50 (if the current 'every 3 years' release cycle continues), especially if they want to get 4-5 movies out of him.I know Roger Moore was in the role from his mid-40s to his late 50s, but the role's a hell of a lot more physically demanding now than it was back then. Jay 37,346
Depending on how Daniel Craig goes between now and 2020, he could certainly end up coming back for a Bond #26 in 2021 or 2022. Who knows!

leeallen01 2,135
Looks like a stunningly shot film, great locations, hopefully a musical call back to Barry's immense OHMSS Score, good actors, yet I can't help but feel like it's going for a Spider-Man 3 revelation. Waltz murdered his parents, killed Vesper, controls Quantum, and grew Bardem's Silva in a super evil genius lab. And he was really Silva in a mask of Bardem in Skyfall, and he killed M. And he killed Bond's wife in OMHSS in some wibbly-wobbly timey wimey alternate dimension. crumbs
Sharkissimo 1,973
Outstanding trailer. Apparently some of the music was written by Newman and recorded in a London session last week. gkgyver 1,645
I'm having a Sherlock/Moriarty vibe from this. Are they seriously going to link SPECTRE to Bond himself? That's so magnificently stupid, in that it narrows down the Bond universe, and continues the "it's oh-so-blody-personal" navel gazing, that it fits perfectly with Skyfall.Go away, Mendez. I'm having a Sherlock/Moriarty vibe from this. Ditto!! I hope its done smarter than it seems right now. I don't get why they can't make a movie any more where Bond simply saves the world from some new villain while making wise cracks, gambling, and bedding numerous women. I don't get why they've all become so serious, and why all the plots all relate to him on a personal level. it's fine to do once in a while, but 4 films in a row? Jay 37,346
By the way, Sam Mendes says the score will be 100 minutes longBut as any director will tell you, how you tell the story is everything and the story by itself is not enough. I spend a long, long period with the music for the movie and there will be over 100 minutes of music for this movie. That's a lot of music. https://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/articles/bond-24-report-180715-sam-mendes-interview?t=&s=&id=03930
Dixon Hill 4,234
"That's a lot of music" for any film and any composer, but especially for Newman. It'll be interesting if it yields something even more symphonic than Skyfall was, since he has so few substantial scores like that to his name.I don't get why they can't make a movie any more where Bond simply saves the world from some new villain while making wise cracks, gambling, and bedding numerous women. Give it 2 or 3 movies before they go back to the classic formula. Is that really a good thing though? Why not let the franchise continue to grow beyond its stylistic roots? Isn't that what people hope for from the Star Wars spinoffs? The alternative to the longevity that grants is stagnant rehashing, and people seem just as upset about that sort of thing. It's one or the other!

leeallen01 2,135
I hope Newman gives us a more traditional bond score with Barry and Arnold esque sweeping melodies. I really liked Skyfall's score and hearing Newman in a rare full action mode, but I want a more traditional score for sure, especially considering they are giving it that vibe now with everything in place from the classics; Bond in white suit, Aston Martin, Moneypenny, male M, more than one Bond Girl, one evil shadowy villain with a henchman etc. not to mention the clear nods to OHMSS in the film scenes shown and the trailer music. BLUMENKOHL 1,068
I think this is atrocious, what filth! What utter inhumanity! How dare they! Too much action! Too many pretty shots! Too many well-cast people! Too much character development! Too many car chases! Cars with flame throwers on them?! The Aston Martin is too sleek! Too many James Bondian corny cliche lines delivered with such gravitas that they sound cool! The music is obviously too good for a trailer, and won't be in the actual movie! Because we're still in a Nolanesque era and that's what audiences are used to and expect to see. Give it 2 or 3 movies before they go back to the classic formula. Mendes has been making character-driven films and stage-productions since before Chrisypoo McDarkNolan started making his dank dark cinema. I am a fan of many of the movies post Connery, but the 60s films are so much more interesting by and large because there were no expectations. The plot didn't have to hit certain points and follow some sort of checklist to be deemed good. The best Bond films were always by and large the ones that were different and didn't just follow the formula, so why do people like you want this type of thing back so much. There's nearly 20 films where Bond is simply a caricature, go and watch those if that's all you want from the character.
