There wasn't a thread for this release yet, so here we go.

Anyways, I was looking for a thread for this, because I read these interesting comments on FSM:

Did anyone catch onto this? On the track "That Went Well" on the LLL release uses an electronic choir, but on the original album real choir is used.

It definitely sounds fake in the LLL version, but it could also be that the album mix (rightly) buried the male choir in a way that conceals its fakery better than the LLL mix. If that makes any sense. But it's definitely way too pronounced on the LLL version.

What do people here think about this?

It sounds different but it seems more of a mixing issue. Though i'm not sure why Goldsmith would use a real choir in the main title and a fake one in 2 other cues. Seems all a bit strange but i haven't chekced the liners yet.

Am I the only one who thinks that the first half of that score is ten times more interesting and diverse than the second half? I always catch myself getting bored from track 11 going on, after I've been really heedfully listening to the musical ideas of the first half.

I think the first 7 minutes of the score is 100x more interesting and diverse than the rest (not that the rest is bad). Jerry’s main title sequence was one of the greatest works of his entire career IMO.

For what it's worth, I much prefer the LLL to the old album, not only does it have cool variations on the bad-ass Russia theme, there are also some better alternates for i. e. Clear the Stadium. Of course the aria is the main selling point, but the missing minutes are good stuff and the sound is so punchy.

agreed. Plus the final cue doesn’t cross fade into the pop song!

The only track I usually return to is Clear the Stadium.
