So?

That doesnt mean they don't make a profit from the foreign grosses.

Also, does Hollywood really only made movies for Americans?

They cut a whole different version of Iron Man 3, just for the Chinese market, which is huge.

Another example. The Adventures of Tintin didnt do well in the US, but made a profit because it was popular in the rest of the world.

The Chinese market is becoming more important, but American grosses give a more accurate view of the film's popularity. Some films bomb in America but do rather well overseas, but that makes a sequel risky business. Are they still going to make Tin Tin 2?

Measuring the grosses never seemed like a very accurate way to gauge a film spopularity IMO. Don't cinema's charge different prices, sometimes at different times, even in the US.

Greater accuracy would be achieved by listing the amount of people who saw the movie during it's cinema run.

Is that important?

No, but they broke the joke with Drax.

It doesn't make sense for Drax to call Gamora a whore.

If that's your biggest gripe with the film, then I think Gunn did a pretty good job!

There's actual gripes, but it's probably my favourite one of the Marvel films so far. Despite the villain and some odd solutions.

Is she back? It'd be nice if that was the case!

I don't know what I'm doing. This is all spontaneous.

Then keep it spontaneous!

Agreed. It's far from a flawless film (and the villain is probably the major flaw, as many pointed out), but it's still my favourite Marvel film to date.

Thank you.

It's nice to have the Chaac back! :)

Jamie: Are you a fucking horse?
Cliff Lawton: Ok... No I'm not a horse.
Jamie: Are you sure?
Cliff Lawton: I'm sure.
Jamie: You got a pretty fucking horsey face, and a bit of a horsey wife... are you a fucking horse? Are you?
Cliff Lawton: Ok, leaving the wife aside for a second...
Jamie: Are you a horse?
Cliff Lawton: No...
Jamie: EXACTLY!
Cliff Lawton: -Categorically say I'm not a horse
Jamie: You're not a fucking horse. You're no horse, and you're not a stalking horse. You are the real thing. We will ram you up Tom's arse so hard that he will have to shit out of his lying mouth.
Cliff Lawton: Not a very nice image. It's motivating...

Shouldn't this be "an exclusive look at Avengers: Age of Ultron - Part 1"?

The rumors are that Avengers 3 will be split into two films, not Avengers 2.

An August release movie about a bunch of nobodies becomes the first to reach $300m in the year. It's unprecedented!

It's Marvel. It doesn't matter who wears the cape.

BTW, I recommended Guardians to a friend of mine who doesn't like Marvel flicks, and he thought I was cuckoo. When I told him I liked The Winter Soldier too, he almost went savage on me ("What?! You're kidding! The first one is garbage! Grrrrr!")
