Of course, a lot of guys on the FSM boards are still predicting an expanded Star Trek score, Back to the Future, Goonies, Batman, Innerspace, etc as well...

A Batman "Black Box" would be amazing.

Indeed

I can't see FSM being able to afford the re-use fees of four different relatively new scores to make it an unlimited release, though.

I'd still wager money on Gremlins

Besides, I'm pretty sure La La Land is working on Batman

Yes I would go with Gremlins, the 25th Anniversary this year with a new DVD / Blu-Ray coming out in Sept too. FSM also have a good relationship with Warners (which would help with future Inner Space & The Goonies releases! So here's hoping!)

A "Black Box"? How about a "Dark Box"?

Judging from what Lukas said on FSM I think next week's release is just going to be either an expanded single or 2-CD set. I doubt it's going to be a box set like Batman. I would imagine if Batman were to be released in complete form that LaLa Land would do it.

Really? Fantastic! Was there any indication as to what the timeframe on that is--i.e., this year or next year or whatever?

I still question whether or not it maybe BTTF. I mean ya I'm sure BTTF is bound to happen...but I would imagine that one of the labels (who ever releases it) would want to wait until next year to release it close to it's 25th Anniversary spot.

That is what I was wondering. There were some "stingers" missing on the album, as well as some "important" music like Vicki's rescue from the restaurant, but I do not see much that could be included as an individual Track.

How much music from the '89 Batman are we really missing on the OST? Not counting the Prince songs.

There's quite a bit. In fact some cues on the OST are edited...example "First Confrontation", "Batman To The Rescue" and "Attack Of The Batwing". If Batman ever got a complete release I would buy it in a heart beat.

I wouldn't go out of my way, but I'd probably get it. The OST is good but a lot of it is filler and the score gets boring after a while, so a complete release would need some pretty spectacular new material.

What do you consider filler, Wojo? I think it's a terrific score with a terrific album--but it would be a much better one without the microedits. The album edits out some of the best parts, particularly from "First Confrontation" and "Attack of the Batwing."

ETAndElliot4Ever, as much as I want B89 complete, I think you may be right. I'd love both, though, and I think LaLaLand is interested in releasing all of the Elfman and Goldenthal scores complete--I know Forever has been thrown around.

I believe there's some unused music, but here's what I've got, working largely from ChrisCrusherComix's edit. Be aware that I haven't seen the film in a while, so I'm not 100% sure on what was meant to segue where, but I think this is mostly right.

01. The Batman Theme (2:38)

02. A Robbery in Gotham*/Roof Fight (3:24)

34. The Final Confrontation (3:49)

35. Finale/The Batman Theme (reprise) (3:10)

*Previously Unreleased

**Includes Previously Unreleased Music

Total score time: 76:17

Bonus tracks would probably include "The Batman Theme (film mix)," "Roof Fight (alternate)," "Beautiful Dreamer" (I believe the recording that plays on the Joker's boom box at the apartment was recorded for the film).

This is kind of inconsistent, as "Nightly News Bumper" and "Sinister Commercial" could technically be considered bonus tracks, but I think they work well, and "Cosmetics Scare" comes out of "Sinister Commercial nicely.

LaLaLand said they hope to release Batman one of these days.

They said nothing about actually working on it.

One of the problems is that the original score album may still be in print.

While it's fun to speculate Lukas did mention this was a real holy grail, which probably means it's something truly special.

FSM is hoping to announce it at Comic-Con, or whatever it's called, next week.

SAE has received the next two FSM CDs but hasn't announced them yet.

Supposedly this will be announced within the next few hours.

Also, there is apparently two FSM releases being announced today.

What if its Gremlins AND BTTF? ROTFLMAO

As much as I love Rozsa, I feel that with my Rhino Ben-Hur, King of Kings, and Tadlow's El Cid, I've got all the Rozsa I can handle. I know there are some other stellar scores available, but I think I might actually go after another of FSM's big boxes first.

Hmmm, I wonder if this will last until Christmas????

I put the Bernstein box on my Christmas wish list a few years ago and the Mrs. got it for me, may have to do the same with this one. ;)

Are the 2 western scores being announced tomorrow? Apparently everyone over a FSM strongly feels the non-American one will be Morricone's Five Man Army. I may have to change my SAE order (which still hasn't shipped) if that is true.
