  1. Scorsese has nowt to apologize for, with THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST. The Roman Catholic church is in the wrong, and it knows it
  2. "Johnny, boy! How's it hanging? Really? A pendulum? Listen, darling, about London. Until you give us a date for a return trip, we're all gonna stand here and hold our breath until we're blue in the face."
  3. Ah! "I was A Teenage Jesus" The film is less about Christ, and more about people's reaction to him. It concentrates on what's going on around Jesus, rather than his ministry. I always find the last shot of the shadow making a cross on the beach, quite moving. As far as fictionalised accounts of the life of Christ go, then JESUS OF NAZARETH is the gold standard. THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST is a decent attempt to depict both the divine and the human sides of Jesus as two halves of the same whole, in a clumsy effort to have them in conflict with each other. Of course, regarding Jesus, both the book and the film miss the point by a country mile, but that's not the point. They point to the divine and the diabolic in all of us. The film still remains among Scorsese's finest.
  4. Look where EMPIRE OF THE SUN, and MINORITY REPORT are, in my top-5. Here's my 6-10: 6/ WAR OF THE WORLDS 7/ E.T. 8/ RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK 9/ INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM 10/ JURASSIC PARK
  5. Why is 1941 ranked so consistently low? Come on, guys, it's time to give 1941 the love it deserves.
  6. You mean THE PIANO? I have absolutely no interest in Keitel's dick, but I like the film.
  7. All this ranking is making me a very tired boy I'll not rank every Steve film, but I will do a top-5: 1/ CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND 2/ 1941 3/ EMPIRE OF THE SUN 4/ JAWS 5/ MINORITY REPORT
  8. You're more than welcome, @Thor. It's on his Facebook page.
  9. @Thor, PSB scored BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN. That's film music-related In other news... David Gilmour has a new album, on the way. Released in September, it will be called LUCK AND STRANGE.
  10. Oh, man! I would kill to see PSB, again. I saw them in Cardiff, on the NIGHTLIFE tour, and they were fantastic. The tour version of 'Being Boring' has become my go-to version (with the possible exception of the Marshall Jefferson remix).
