  1. From my understanding, the things you didn't like about the previous album have been taken care of. There is some reverb here, but I can hear all the detail just fine. Karol As I've repeatedly said here and elsewhere - for whatever reasons Botnick added reverb to an orchestra recorded in an already airy room - it didn't need one iota of extra verb because the room was spacious and had a gorgeous natural reverb. Then Mr. Botnick added a TON or reverb to the choir - they need reverb but not a TON - so when you add the overly-reverbed choir to the overly reverbed orchestra you get a big wash of nothingness and a band that sounds distant. We used the three-track analogue tapes, which provided a real musical sound rather than a harsh digital one from 1986. We added no extra verb to the orchestra and we added reasonable verb to the choir - the result is that the orchestra has great clarity where it formerly didn't, and the choir can be heard and understood now.
  2. Well, the early reports are in from the FSM board and I couldn't be happier with them. Some quotes: "Listened to this many times since yesterday. And as someone who is really familiar with this score and has listened to it many many times over the years, I have to say that the improved sound mix is really fantastic. There are just so many little subtle nuances that become evident for the first time. Amazing job guys!" "The sound quality is definitely worth the upgrade. As promised, the shrill pitch of the Varese disc has been nicely corrected. The analogue source reveals some tape hiss but the music has a rich, warm quality. The choir component is more upfront and detailed. (Don't listen to at night!) And there is far more orchestral detail as promised. Very happy!!" "So happy to finally have this in a definitive edition. Its always been one of my favorite scores- I just find it such an enjoyable listen. Anyway, I agree with Rick- the sound quality is definitely worth the upgrade. The tweaks in the sound mix bring out previously unheard detail & clarity, especially in the choir tracks." "As others have said, the sound quality is wonderful. This should close the book on this score." "The sound clarity is really wonderful. Many aspects of "The Visitor", for instance, that pop out and are much clearer than they were before." "I listened to it last night. Thanks for the fast shipping Kritzerland! Wonderful production all around. I'm very happy with the decision to include the phone-less "Late Call" into the main score presentation. Nice to have those 4 unreleased bits finally! The new mix is wonderful. Detailed and warm as promised. I didn't pick up on any odd phasing of instruments."
  3. You mean sober, reliable, gentle, salt-of-the-earth, friend-to-man Bruce Kimmel? Sober - check. Reliable - check. Salt-of-the earth - have no idea. Friend-to-man - not all men, not all women, but most smart people who are not negative cretins, sure. It's very obvious where several members of this board fall in this assessment. Thus it has been, thus it will always be. Yeah, ban the troll, right. Do it. Do it now. Do it quickly. Everyone will be much happier.
  4. I don't care what you think. I care about obnoxious posts, which are open to the same kind of criticism that you hurl. What the heck do you care what I think anyway? It's not just you - it's any sane person.
  5. I don't care if he likes the cover art or not. I care about his rudeness here and on the FSM board, where he said it looked like a bootleg cover. That is why the hostility. I look at all kinds of covers from other labels' soundtrack releases, many of which are not to my liking but I don't feel the need to go piss on them. That's just my opinion, but when someone makes with a rude comment on a public board then that comment is open for comments in return and of like content.
  6. Really, what practices are those and how many times do you have to not understand them? It's very simple so let me explain it once again and maybe it will help you: We announce a title and take pre-orders - I put a shipping date of six weeks later - this we have done since our very first release. Has any release actually taken six weeks to ship? No. Has any release actually taken five weeks to ship? No. Four? No. Three? Once or twice due to a holiday or a hangup with our printing and/or pressing plant? Two? Frequently and most of the time. One? Several times. The day after the announcement? Several times. But while you are continually not understanding, why don't you also not understand Varese Sarabande's business practices with their Club releases because guess what - they do exactly the same thing. So, while you don't understand our business practices let me just say that I don't understand your not understanding them. You don't have to like them, but I think a four-year-old could understand them. According to haineshisway fromthe FSM froums. With it being a 1500 pressing and a Goldsmith title that's a sequel to a popular horror classic. I'm not surprised this is selling fast.Though I expected it to sell out last night. I don't think I said that - I think someone else said that. But I can tell you, it will probably be gone tomorrow. Yeah it's the poster image with some new font for the title and byline that looks like it was typed and layered in MS photo editor. Whereas FSM was able to use the original LP artwork for its release of the first score. Dear Mr. Drax: You're kind of a nutcase Happily you are alone in what you think of the cover - I wonder why? Perhaps you'd have enjoyed the horrid expanded Varese cover? Or the expanded Intrada cover where you can't even read the composer's name. I am happy to cancel your order, however, if you indeed did order and through us. Just give me the word. You would think this would be obvious. Thankfully, I'm glad it's obvious to you
  7. I guess I'll say it again - we don't do shipping e-mails. Once more - we don't do shipping e-mails. We are not a retail store and are not set up to do so. All CDs are shipped the same day. Of course, you neglect to say whether you're in the US or overseas - if overseas it's really not time to start fretting yet and won't be for several weeks. If you're worried about something you can always drop us a line. We have tracking information on every package we ship.As to Jason, you post and post about when your disc will arrive, you get it, and you don't even open it. A head scratcher, for sure. Thanks for the idea, but I just naturally received an update as a matter of coincidence. For reasons unknown, the album was returned to you, so it was resent to me. I received the email with tracking number yesterday, I believe. Pennsylvania. Now you probably know my real identity. I may know your real identity but what's so bad about that?
  8. I guess I'll say it again - we don't do shipping e-mails. Once more - we don't do shipping e-mails. We are not a retail store and are not set up to do so. All CDs are shipped the same day. 9. MV is correct - there is always a sell-off period after the license expires. Also, I just feel that in fairness that this label being taken to task is not the only label to ever issue a promo. I know this because I have a bunch of composer authorized promo releases that had no real licensing deals. The issue is the selling (or in this case the giving away) of the promo. But as I recall I paid for these other composer promo releases.
  10. All copies went out Tuesday morning, which, may I remind you, Jason, was close to four weeks ahead of schedule. No, we don't do shipping notices - we are not a retail store like SAE and are not set up to do that. We actually have the best customer service anywhere, but if you're more comfortable ordering from SAE then do it. SAE couldn't have sent out any shipping notices before today (Friday) because they didn't get their stock until today, which is why everyone who buys from us normally gets their stuff earlier. If you got a "you made a payment" notice at the end of your transaction, then we got the order. How long it takes once it leaves us is anyone's guess, thanks to an erratic USPS. Some people got them on Wednesday, some yesterday some today and so it will go. We have tracking information on every package we send. Patience is a nice quality to have especially when buns are being busted to get things out as much ahead of the shipping date as possible. For example, A Place in the Sun, which sold out more quickly than Missouri, is shipping on Tuesday, almost the full five weeks ahead of the shipping date. Now, for anyone who missed the title, we will have some extras - we always hold back copies in case anything gets damaged or lost in the mail, and once we know what that story is we can let the emergency copies be sold. So, if anyone missed out just drop an e-mail to kritzerland at gmail dot com and we'll make sure you get one as soon as we know what's what.
  11. If any label is going to print more copies it will be us - I have an agreement about that, which is how we did the Encore edition of Carrie - believe me others were nosing around that title just as I'm sure they'll be nosing around this, although, that said, I'm just not sure how many more sales there would be. If we'd done 1500 of them we wouldn't have sold a 1000 by this point - that's just how it goes, I'm afraid. It's shipping Tuesday morning. We were hoping for today, but the holiday last week really slowed things up.
  12. When you buy via Paypal, whether from us or SAE, the money is taken from your account immediately. I don't want to promise, but we're hoping this will ship late next week, which would be over a month ahead of schedule - but it's dependent on a bunch of factors - but that's the plan - the pressing plant has the master - they're never the problem, the problem is always the print - they've had the prints since last Thursday and the hope is they'll run it early next week (it probably would have run this week but they're off Thursday and Friday for the holiday) - but if it gets run early next week it only takes the pressing plant a day to then turn it around and we get it the next morning. So, fingers crossed. We'll definitely be sold out by either this evening or tomorrow morning. There are about 120 copies left.
  13. Can't say for certain, but I'd be surprised if it isn't gone at some point tomorrow - selling very briskly and if one dealer ups his order as he says he might, then it will definitely be gone by tomorrow.
  14. We move very quickly on certain titles and we're not set up like Intrada and LLL, who seem to have hundreds of projects just sitting around, many of which are finished and ready to go - we're never that far ahead, unfortunately, although I wouldn't mind it. Three of our recent releases, however, were shipped the day after we announced. And the official ship date is always in the announcement and on the order page, along with the info that it's very likely it will ship several weeks early.
