Miguel Andrade 1,260 Posted April 15, 2014 Share Posted April 15, 2014 The San Diego performance is likely to be like the 2nd (known) revision, recorded by the Detroit Symphony earlier that same year (that recording is expected to be released soon).This performance with Ma and the Houston Symphony is a new revision (the 3rd). I know there are different beginnings one has the brass opening, the other has a woodwind ostinato pattern simlar to Memoirs of a Geisha...It seems like JW removed a lot of the material in the 3rd revision.
