no no, i'm here. . .i'm just trying to finish these F&$#@ing papers for my masters. But I do have a question that I know many of you will be able to answer.

I need to buy some comic books in German. A piano student of mine who I've had for 6 years speaks it fluently and for X-mas I'd like to get him a couple of books. But the deal is, they can't be too racy. . . .not alot of boobs (aeon flux style) and not a lot of swearing. . . . .

Sorry, can't help you there. Pretty much the only comic books I'd buy in German myself are Asterix and Tintin - and that's just because I can't read their original languages.

Ren, Asterix and Tin Tin are very good (one might argue among the best comics ever created) and 100% clean.
Neither are originally german though. (french and belgium..beligish..umm...)

I don't actually know any german comics.

I wouldn't go so far with Astérix (especially not Uderzo's solo efforts), but Tin Tin is as close to perfection as you can get.

Of course they're ok. For more infos on Tintin (which I haven't read in about 15 years, unfortunately), see Marc's thread. I expect both comics are available at standard book stores like Amazon... though I'd still rather recommend something originally German - only I can't think of anything.
