OH God, Joe is posting again, someone hand me my pills!

"You're not John Conner, I saw you die, said Kyle". "I was only injured, replied John". "No, your injuries were too severe, you died. Look at you, where are your injuries? You're, you're a Terminator." "Kyle, its still me, yes my body was beyond repair, but my essence is here." He points to his head. "No John". Kyle raised his pulse rifle and aimed it at John but before he could fire, John fired first. Knocked to the ground Kyle looked up at the Terminator in the form of the man he once idolized. All hope was lost. "If you kill me how will you ever be born?" "Thats a good question Kyle, all this time we've focus on Sarah, on John, when had we known the it was you we should have targeted all along." John pointed his rifle at Kyle's face. "The resistance is finished, the battle is won. We the machines are the victors, salvation is ours." Kyle never heard the second shot.

I watched the trailer. In a very shit quality but still. It has a certain Terrence Malick feel to it. And yes, I know it was Zimmer's music that they used for it. But I'm mostly referring to some of the photography, which looks like something from his films.

Overall, it looks like it could work very well. Obviously very, very different from Richard Donner's/Richard Lester's/ Bryan Singer's films. Which might be a great thing. Someone like Snyder, who has an amazing visual sense, could work wonders with a good story. I'm now really intrigued for this.

It seems the film is similar approach to Nolan's films in a sense it is more about Clark Kent inventing the concept of superhero in a world where something like that doesn't exist. And, obviously, how his very presence affects everyrhing. In Nolan's Batman films, that's what Bruce Wayne does. That's much different to, say, Marvel films where all those characters share the same universe..

From a storytelling point of view, from a directing point of view, there is one thing I associate with what he does, which is calm. There is such an inherent calm and inherent trust of the one powerful image, that he makes me embarrassed with my own work, in terms of how many different shots, how many different sound effects, how many different things we’ll throw at an audience to make an impression. But with Kubrick, there is such a great trust of the one correct image to calmly explain something to audience. There can be some slowness to the editing. There’s nothing frenetic about it. It’s very simple. There’s a trust in simple storytelling and simple image making that actually takes massive confidence to try and emulate. - Christopher Nolan

I don't think Snyder's visual style is amazing, unique yes, amazing, no.

If Man of Steel uses the 300 style is will be a shame.

The visuals of 300 are very faithful to Miller's grapic novel. I don't think anyone expects him to use that style for Man Of Steel. What would be the point?

I watched the trailer but it was difficult to have a clear picture. I don't quite understand the Malick comments.

The kind of impressionistic shots of corn and house and butterfly and stuff like that. Reminds me of Malick.

I'm still not very fond of the new suit. It looks to rebootish similar style for the new Spider-Man film. I prefer the suit from Superman Returns.

Anyways has said teaser trailer from Comic Con leaked at all yet?

Can't make anything out and there are three fucking screens in frame. That video was apparently recorded on a calculator. I heard typical whispery male dialogue and Zimmer music. Basically what I expected from a modern flick.

For some reason I like that they're using Journey to the Line in a Superman trailer. I associate that music in my mind to something much different.

I can see an orchestral score with this kind of music in the trailer.
"I get asked all the time, 'What happens after Return of the Jedi?,' and there really is no answer for that. The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends."

Ya that hand recorded one was lame...could barely see anything. I think I too will wait to properly view it online. You would think by now people would invest in some way to be able to hand record things at event like this...I mean better than 10-15 years ago. :-p

Well I"m sure if the device was fancier it would be bigger, and the producers would notice it and tell the person the stop filming.

Wait until the official HQ teaser drops, then judge it. The other bootlegged version of the teaser had a better view of the footage, but not by much.

Yes.

Now, I said I liked this choice for a trailer because I love TTRL, but I don't know what I'll think of the actual score (and I doubt the actual score will be as chilling and spinetingling and adrenaline-pumping and evocative as JW's score for Superman, because Hans Room doesn't seem to have the chops. Doesn't mean it will be bad. I'm sure Hans is sitting somewhere scared at the task and thinking he's to to be responsible and do good on this one.)

I'm happy about what I've seen of the trailer so far because it seems to go in a similar direction as the one I would have picked for a Superman film.

I hope Supes doesn't go back in time in this one...

Right, because when he goes back in time to save Lois, he's no longer at Hoover Dam when time restarts and all those millions of people still drown. The stupid movie kinda glazed over that part.

This was confirmed already, and was pretty obvious to me a long time ago. Get over it. Batman didn't die without "Nanananananaa" and he didn't die again without Elfman's theme.

No, these people fear that when the new Superman regime comes into power, the men in black will break into their homes, destroy their Blue Boxes, break their Blu-Rays, and erase the music from their iPods. It does happen in strange parts of the world, and so too will it happen here.

Zimmer should just replace the Superman ostinato and march with the theme to Casualty:

I can so imagine Superman looking phone booths up and down to this. And it'd be so ultra modern it'd clean up at the awards ceremonies.
