But hey, you never know. Maybe Ridley will have a crazy moment while editing the film and decide to track 90% of the it with Goldsmith's Alien score and replace this one.
So Ridley Scott is directing an Alien prequel... (The official Prometheus Thread)

Part of the cool thing of the Alien franchise is that each film had a different composer, giving the films it's own identity and variety, with occasional references to Alien and Aliens in subsequent scores.

Yeah, it's really cool to hear each composer's unique voice within the Alien Franchise. I think all four alien films have fantastic scores. Sad to see that Prometheus' score doesn't live up to the same quality, but I didn't really expect it to.
I wonder who the "friend from the past" is....

I like some bits like the last track of the CD.

There are some bits and pieces that sound nice, but, so far, it's kind of not really gripping. As was predicted, the Prometheus score is underwhelming. No "Robin Hood is great!" type comments was going to change this.
I like some bits like the last track of the CD.

Not exactly the minimalistic approach from the original poster of Alien, is it?

Like At the Mountains of Ma... oh.
I guess so. But I don't think the score contains two or three cues composed by HGW.
I don't think another composer stepped in and used HGW's theme. Unless we're being hidden something. Mmm.

The bad thing about the score is that it's unable to get up there. Even with two composers and a Goldsmith theme.

There is an additional arranger. That explains everything. isn't it?

No. I just can't imagine it being any good. Remember it's a prequel (of sorts) to one of the most beloved s-f films of all time done by the same director. It just can't work. The expectations are too high.Because of the tweets?
