Yeah, the grown-up version. Behind the opaque dome (which Cameron removed for his aliens) is a humanoid skull.
Repeat the JWFan pledge after me: 'I hereby recognise John Towner Williams' place in the world as the great composer there has ever been, and I therefore renounce the works of Rozsa, Korngold, Herrmann, Horner, Kamen, Giacchino (unless the prophecy is fulfilled and he becomes the heir to JTW) and Goldsmith, especially Goldsmith. I understand that if I ever refer to Jurassic Park as anything less than "a masterpiece sixty-five million years in the making" I will be resigned to living out my days at the Zimmershrine.'

Well the host was human (Kane).

the Alien 3 one is supposed to look more like a dog or ox.

Imagine an alien coming forth out of a space jockey.

BTW, where was that alien or its corpse that came out of the space jockey in Alien?

Only Giger can imagine that.

True, but that lifecycle change was introduced in the third film. I wonder if Ridley will embrace it.

It might have been always part of the idea Scott and Giger had.

I've just realized that this film is released in Spain two months late, meaning I won't be able to go see it in English, meaning I won't see it at the theater. I hope a good HD rip doesn't last much to appear on the Internet.

I've just found this new video:

"I get asked all the time, 'What happens after Return of the Jedi?,' and there really is no answer for that. The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends."

Interesting. Cheers for that! It has been directed by Ridley's son, apparently, so I wouldn't exactly expect the film to look like this.

From a storytelling point of view, from a directing point of view, there is one thing I associate with what he does, which is calm. There is such an inherent calm and inherent trust of the one powerful image, that he makes me embarrassed with my own work, in terms of how many different shots, how many different sound effects, how many different things we’ll throw at an audience to make an impression. But with Kubrick, there is such a great trust of the one correct image to calmly explain something to audience. There can be some slowness to the editing. There’s nothing frenetic about it. It’s very simple. There’s a trust in simple storytelling and simple image making that actually takes massive confidence to try and emulate. - Christopher Nolan

To promote a movie. It's a viral campaign or something.

Nah, anyone under 25 who lives and breathes FB are its generation. You know - those stupid eyelash obsessed pouting girls who feed off the constant attention from sex mad male 'friends' via throwaway compliments and remarks on their 'wall'. The ones you see updating their status on the train and in the cinema. They're the FB gen. For them it's a way of life.

They aren't interested in seeing a new Alien movie, but Fox wants them to be.

Unfortunately for me I do have to do some work, from time to time ;)

If you've ever noticed how I tend to edit and add to my posts long after submitting them, it's guaranteed to be because of some real world distraction, or my daughter.

But yeah, my phone (and iPad when at home) are what make it so quick and easy to keep tabs on my favorite online pals at JWFan.

So, is this the first time ever that they filmed a separate standalone scene in order to promote a movie? And is the scene truly directed by the son of Scott?

BTW, if this is the tone of Prometheus, then it isn't as low-key as the tone in Alien.

OH God, Joe is posting again, someone hand me my pills!

"You're not John Conner, I saw you die, said Kyle". "I was only injured, replied John". "No, your injuries were too severe, you died. Look at you, where are your injuries? You're, you're a Terminator." "Kyle, its still me, yes my body was beyond repair, but my essence is here." He points to his head. "No John". Kyle raised his pulse rifle and aimed it at John but before he could fire, John fired first. Knocked to the ground Kyle looked up at the Terminator in the form of the man he once idolized. All hope was lost. "If you kill me how will you ever be born?" "Thats a good question Kyle, all this time we've focus on Sarah, on John, when had we known the it was you we should have targeted all along." John pointed his rifle at Kyle's face. "The resistance is finished, the battle is won. We the machines are the victors, salvation is ours." Kyle never heard the second shot.

Well to be blunt, the "space jockey" discovered on LV-426* wasn't human, but it wasn't xenomorph either. That makes it alien. And if there is a species of space jockeys and a species of humans and a species of monster that breeds with whatever it wraps its facehugger around, then we "assume" there are plenty more species of "alien" life forms out there.

Yet there is only one alien that is truly the Alien, the titular monster of our series. This could be all very confusing trying to take this seriously.

* I don't think LV-426 was named until Cameron's movie, making it another non sequitur in the eyes of the cos man, but it's easier to type than "the planet that the Nostromo looked at in the first movie." Oh dear, I ended up typing a lot more.

@Wojo: stop being facetious.

I think they called it Acheron but Cameron didn't know about it. In the same way, Cameron ddn't know about the man-to-egg scenes so he made up his own idea.
