Poor Arsenal, to many of their best players injured!

There's always next year, I guess.
Repeat the JWFan pledge after me: 'I hereby recognise John Towner Williams' place in the world as the great composer there has ever been, and I therefore renounce the works of Rozsa, Korngold, Herrmann, Horner, Kamen, Giacchino (unless the prophecy is fulfilled and he becomes the heir to JTW) and Goldsmith, especially Goldsmith. I understand that if I ever refer to Jurassic Park as anything less than "a masterpiece sixty-five million years in the making" I will be resigned to living out my days at the Zimmershrine.'

Jose Mourinho does it again!

Hope Man U will be "kaltgestellt" by Bayern tomorrow!

Imagine that, no English teams though to the semis!

Messi is god.

He makes an already brilliant team truly immortal.
I can't see anyone beating this team, with these players, in a fair and square game.

Football is always unpredictable. Remember last year how Chelsea controlled Barcelona? They are still clear favorites, but I wouldn't underestimate Mourinho's tactical cunning.

How about a final Bayern vs Inter? Now that would truly be interesting. Can't stand all those English teams going through all the time.

Well, too bad for my dear Benfica, Liverpool were deserving winners. We played last monday a match that was very demanding physically (we were 0-2 down and ended up winning 4-2) and the team greatly resented that effort today, against an english team, which normally have a very high pace.

BUt Like I said we lost well. of all the teams that qualifided for the quarter finals of the Europa League, we were the only team that is on the verge of winning its national chmapionship, and that oftens lessens the chances of winning a competition that is mostly played on THurdays.

Anyway, good luck to Liverpool, I hope they win the cup.

For a winner of the national championship, what Wolfsburg had to offer tonight was pitiful. No disrespect to Fulham, but COME on!

I was flicking between the Wolfsburg v Fulham and Liverpool v Benfica games on TV yesterday and somehow contrived to miss all the goals in each game! I think Benfica had the misfortune to be on the receiving end of Liverpool's best performance of the season, by all accounts. With regard to the other game, I was genuinely shocked at how conservatively Wolfsburg played; as the game went on none of their players seemed to even want the ball and it looked as if they had more or less given up ten minutes into the second half, despite being only two goals behind against a modest Premier League team and with home advantage.

Liverpool is the favourite, Athletico and Hamburg are about equally strong, and Fulham is the underdog.

Watching El Clasico right now. 0-1.
Messi, who else?

You know, Sky Germany really sucks.

You'd think that on PAY TV - you know, TV you pay for to watch something you want - you can actually watch all four quarterfinal matches in full length on separate channels. Do we get that? No, you can only watch the two matches with German participants in full length, the other two you can only see in a conference of all four games.

It's insanity.

Not to mention Sky Germany features neither Spanish, not Italian football. Only 5 Premier League matches and matches from Austria, which, frankly, nobody gives flying fuck about.

I have resisted the temptation to subscribe to the various Sky Sports channels, partly because I do not think it would be good for me to be sat in front of the TV every evening and partly because the team I support plays in the third tier and is rarely shown live on Sky (although coincidentally, our game against Swindon Town this evening is being screened live). Some of the Champions League games are shown on terrestrial TV and many of the Europa League games involving British teams are shown on the freeview channels such as ITV3 and Channel 5. While I appreciate that the Premier League gets much of its revenue from TV rights, as a football fan it annoys me that so many games are played at random times and switched at short notice to accommodate the TV schedules. The BBC has pretty good highlights coverage of the lower leagues, in which I am more interested, as well as screening the occasional game live.

The only Sky Sports channel I get is Sky Sports News - one of the freeview channels - so at least I get to drool over the gorgeous Charlotte Jackson without having to pay through the nose.

What a story - Mourinho was second coach at van Gaal's side ... in Barcelona. What a luvely triangle ... or foursome, considering Guardiola was their player.

It might not have been pretty to watch, but that was a fantastic rearguard performance from Internazionale. Like a lot of Italian teams, Inter seem to be able to dig in when down to 10 men (even if their team tonight was largely devoid of Italians).

And what a save from Julio Cesar in the first half!

That Ribery is banned for three games is truly preposterous!

Platini is a bitch, he's just miffed that Lyon didn't make it.

But I like Mourinho, I find him very sympathetic. Maybe a tad arrogant, but he has a great sense of humour. And he doesn't take crap from the local journaille. Must have inherited it froom van Gaal :)

May the best over-arrogant coach win!

Tremendous achievement by Inter, taking the CL, while barely having possesion of the ball.

Robben worked his ass off, but Bayern seemed to lack focus and speed.

Thousands of dissapointed Germans and overjoyed Italians in the streets of Madrid tonight.

I predict trouble....

Dissapointing, but deserved. Inter was more straightforward and mature in all departments. When they had the ball, they knew what to do with it; Bayern on the other hand seemed to be a little helpless in breaking through Inter's defense.

All in all thrilling for fans of both teams, but certainly one of the weaker finals of the past years.

And what are you talking about Madrid? I live in Munich, we just had to drive five minutes to the center of the town, Marienplatz, there was enough action there - someone almost puked on my shoes.

Oh, about Mourinho: I like the an alot! He is a character. I can't stand those diplomatic, sissy coaches. Football is war! ;)

They constantly tried to break though via Robben, but Inter did a good job preventing him him getting an effective ball, or passing one. I think not having Ribéry definatly hurt Bayern's chances. Olic was not in the game at all, Klose did not do much.
All in all thrilling for fans of both teams, but certainly one of the weaker finals of the past years.
Oh I dunno, I get a perverse pleasure seeing Mourinho beating supposedly brilliant teams were relative ease.
And what are you talking about Madrid? I live in Munich, we just had to drive five minutes to the center of the town, Marienplatz, there was enough action there - someone almost puked on my shoes.
Sadly we were robbed of yet another brilliant victory speech by Van Gaal.

Oh definatly. When he steps out from the catacombs, there definatly is a presence there. And despite his strict, dominant style of coaching, his players love him.

The same applies to Lous van Gaal though. ;)
