Mychael Danna was never involved, I guarantee it. Even if Marc Webb wanted to use him again, I doubt Marvel would approve. The man's never done an action score.

Marvel Studios has no control over the movies Fox and Sony produce -- if anyone has the power to force Marc Webb to get a more 'marketable' composer for ASM, it's Sony music executives and not Kevin Feige. Marvel Entertainment is solely a profit participant for those films.

You guys need to understand that just because all movies produced with the Marvel logo at the beginning, doesn't mean they're made by Marvel Studios. All the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Daredevil movies are Fox films, Spider-Man is Sony's property, and so forth. Only movies like Iron Man, Thor and Captain America are true Marvel Studios films, which are distributed by Paramount and Walt Disney Pictures respectively.

I'd rather Powell continued to be honest.

JNH's last attempt at that type of score, Salt didn't impress me at all. I really wish he'd do more purely dramatic scores, because I think that's what he does best.

Harry Gregson-Williams to Score Total Recall

I doubt that Gregson-Williams does a good work.
"I get asked all the time, 'What happens after Return of the Jedi?,' and there really is no answer for that. The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends."

Harry Gregson-Williams to Score Total Recall

Wow the remake craze is really taken Hollywood by the throat. And Total Recall of all films. I mean wow.

Ars superior est vita hominum.

"We pop out and come into the world and music is there. We didn't invent it - it's all organised in the atmosphere by divinity or whatever. It's a miracle." - John Williams-

I think music is a stream of some kind. It could be blood. It could be water. It could be ether. Whatever it is it seems to be a living, organic force that’s in motion, that serves humanity and is part of humanity and part of what describes us as humans. We sing, play, dance, all the things that we do. And there is a vibrant and great literature we have been given. ... As musicians, we join the stream. We swim in the stream with all the other millions of music makers. It’s a life force, a strong one, surrounding us and we are part of it. -John Williams-

It's been delayed, because of the conversion to 3D. But rest assured that it WILL be released. The only problem is that Finland will have it a month later than the rest of the world.

I forgot they're remaking this. Jeez.
Repeat the JWFan pledge after me: 'I hereby recognise John Towner Williams' place in the world as the great composer there has ever been, and I therefore renounce the works of Rozsa, Korngold, Herrmann, Horner, Kamen, Giacchino (unless the prophecy is fulfilled and he becomes the heir to JTW) and Goldsmith, especially Goldsmith. I understand that if I ever refer to Jurassic Park as anything less than "a masterpiece sixty-five million years in the making" I will be resigned to living out my days at the Zimmershrine.'

Javier Navarrete to Score ‘Wrath of the Titans’

I think it's a great choice, it's better than a RCP composer.
"I get asked all the time, 'What happens after Return of the Jedi?,' and there really is no answer for that. The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends."

Who cares? If this ends up being like the first film, he'll be replaced by some RCP composer anyway.

But for the moment, good news indeed. I have yet to listen to Pan's Labyrinth, but I love Inkheart.

Pan's Labyrinth is beautiful. I haven't heard Inkheart but I've just put the main titles on spotify as I type this sentence.

And great news about Titans! I think Djawadi's score is a load of crap.

Other news... JNH is scoring some movie called 'Hunger Games', replacing Elfman due to scheduling problems. Sounds from the article that it's a more routine handover and it won't be a rushed score. Is there anything Howard won't score at the moment though?

I've watched interviews; in particular, I think I recall seeing Elfman explain the scores are scheduled, he puts aside time to make sure he can do it, plus news articles said he was busy at work writing the score.

I smell balony.

Howard replacing Elfman again? The Hunger Games looks like it could be good, though, and while Elfman didn't feel like a perfect match for the universe, I'm sure he could have done something wonderful. That being said, I'm excited to see what Howard can do.

I knew this would happen to Elfman. Just thought MIIIB would've been the he'd back out from. Glad it wasn't. I had 0 interest in this movie (The Hunger Games)before Elfman got involved. So pass. I'm sure JNH will write something interesting, though.
