What, they fixed the horrible dictionary? How about the EVIL auto-correction?

Grrr, I hate it.

Also, have they addressed the still very fiddly copy/paste of text? The way its often 'sucks up' entire blocks of text is bloody annoying.

I turned off the auto-correct.

I do agree about the copy/paste of text. I too find it really annoying how it can "suck up" entire blocks of text as you stated. It's hard to highlight just a single word most of the time.

A bigger screen should help with that. Can't wait to get a 4.3" phone myself (all iPhones released so far have a 3.5" screen)

I agree that is a pretty cool feature.

Hey Blume if you turn the text sounds off while listening to the iPod portion of the iPhone, will the phone vibrate? I ask this because currently when ever I turn the text sounds off while I listen to the iPod portion of my phone it doesn't vibrate any time I get a text, despite the fact I have vibration turned on.

I turn the text sound off because every time I got a text it would cut the sound from my music out for a brief moment.

I really hope they fixed that with iOS5.

This is still as is. But this is also the first beta. I just put in a feedback form about it. :)

Ah okay thanks for putting feedback in for that. I think it's stupid that the phone doesn't vibrate when getting a text, despite the fact if you have vibration turned on.

When I had my HTC Droid Eris it always vibrated if I had the text sounds turned off and got a text.

Do you look at what you're typing as you type it? I don't - I look at the keys. The amount of times I've intended to (and thought I was) type a particular word only to see (after the fact) that iOS assumed I meant something else entirely, it's bloody annoying.

Example: try typing "hell".

Haha, I also use the English (UK) keyboard, because I'm a snooty douchebag (according to people who receive texts from me....colour...honour). But I am pleased to say...after three in iOS 5 x-outs, the phone no longer corrects hell to he'll.

Errr...I'm not sure what that article refers to. That's a screenshot from the Contacts screen for adding screen names for various services. (iOS 5 does include a host of new ones, including Facebook, but....that no more integration than that I'm aware of).

I check a bunch of cell phone news sites RELIGIOUSLY for news that the Samsung Galaxy S II will *finally* be announced for the US to no avail.... starting to think it won't ever come out here!

Somebody talk me out of pulling the trigger I have on current Amazon order containing this plus a screen protector and a case:

Why not buy a slightly older model phone, you'll save a lot of money.

Whatever you buy now will be old and outdated in a few months time anyway.

I would never spend $670 on a phone (well unless I was rich).

If you got the money, then it's a moot point, but isn't there an upgrade option you have to save some cash?

I went from a flip-phone circa 2008 to an HTC Evo 4G, was $200 for the upgrade, worth every penny.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is ahead of the curve, it'll be a top of the line phone for a while to come. Its out in basically every country now but the US. The carriers here are holding it up. I'm sure when it is officially released it'll be $200 on a new 2 year contract (I'm currently off contract)

There is no current phone on the US market that is worth spending money on, to me. They are all too old or don't have enough features. The HTC Sensation on T-Mobile is close but HTC limits their phones to 1GB internal storage which is annoying as hell to me.

I was thinking I could invest in this phone now, then get the Samsung Galaxy S 2 officially when it comes out here - or possibly some simliar, but superior phone - and then sell this unlocked one used on craigslist for probably almost the same price I would pay now. I dunno.

You dont really invest in a phone. If you invest, you expect to earn some money on it at the other end. Phones devaluate far to fast to be a solid investment.

Well if your phone has decent web browsing or the ability to scan a product barcode so you can price-check in the store, that would help it pay for itself in the long run.

Actually, you can "profit" off the iPhones.

In the U.S. if you purchase via contract the price is $199 or $299, so depreciation on the device starts at $599 or $699. I've managed to sell my iPhone 3G that I purchased for $199 for $230 when I switched up to the iPhone 4.

Of course, this is if you delude yourself into forgetting you're paying $30/month for 2 years for the data contract, on top of your family voice plan.

The other reason for me to buy an unlocked phone would be because I am currently grandfathered into the unlimited data plan from AT&T. If I buy a new phone, new contract, no more unlimited data

I've been off-contract since June 19th (I bought my iPhone 3GS the day it was released in 2009)

My plan is to bail out of my family plan at Verizon and set up my own account with AT&T when the next iPhone is announced.

I'll probably set it up through Best Buy. The Buy Back program is actually kinda good. They pay you back based on the full price of the phone. So if you pay $200 for an iPhone 4 with a new contract, you can sell it back within 6 months and get 50% of $599.

Well it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S 2 will finally be announced for the US two weeks from today

http://www.phonearen...xy-S-II_id21162

Though at this point, it looks like all the US versions (on each carrier) will be modified in some way from the original international version. Makes me wonder if I should have just bought an unlocked version for $650 back in June when my contract expired...

For anyone in the US who wants one now:

Not just tried. Samsung is currently not allowed to sell the tab in most of Europe because Apple claims that they alone have the right to sell rectangular flat devices with transparent screens displaying coloured icons. Even though Samsung released this digital picture frame in 2006, four years before the iPad came out:

Apple iPhone 5 is being released on October 15th

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is finally coming out in the US this Friday (Sprint), Sunday (AT&T), and October (T-Mobile), but honestly, they took SO FREAKING LONG to come out here (it's been out internationally since May) that even though I've been waiting and waiting for it, I'm likely going to wait even longer and get the Nexus Prime, which is exclusively (at first) coming to Verizon in October or November. 4G LTE with vanilla Android 4.0 FTW

I have no clue what phones are available in Austria. Just walk into the stores of the carriers that your country has, play with them all, and buy the one you like the most!

If you like the iPhone, supposedly on October 15th when the iPhone5 launches, they'll be selling a new, cheaper iPhone4 for very short money...

I personally love my iPhone. I can't wait for iOS 5 though. Only a month away for that. I do have the iPhone 4 and I'm happy to wait until my next available upgrade in a couple of years for the iPhone 5 or 6, which ever will be out then.

Edit: I don't remember if this was ever answered or not or if I even posted a question. Will the iOS5 give you more home screens, than just the current 2 we all ready have? The second screen is nearly full for icons.
