I've never been excited about a Pixar trailer. I've loved every movie except Cars 2.

Nothing ever looks special in Pixar trailers.
Maybe, but then compared to a rat becoming a chef, to a robot romance or to a floating house, I would say that Brave looks even less special… I hope they won’t lower to doing Middle Age parody à la Shrek.

Never seen a Cars film.
Good. Cars is weak sauce, but Cars 2 is supremely awful. Pixar's first cash-in sequel to a movie that wasn't that loved in the first place.
Brave looks like the return to form. Both trailers look great and sell the magic and comedy aspects well.

Unfortunately it's made half a billion dollars anyway (meaning Cars 3 could arrive.. meh).
Brave looks refreshingly different, but I struggle to tell from the trailer exactly what this film's about.

Anybody else think that trailer was awful? It was just another cliche and generic fantasy-adventure trailer. I'm sure the film will be good, but man that trailer is horrible.
While I enjoyed the first teaser a bit, I must say the recent trailer was pretty bad. It seems like Pixar is trying to rip off the success of Dreamwork's How To Train Your Dragon (which I've always thought was a bit overrated). Seriously, if the film is what the trailer dictates it is....then this will be a huge disappointment.
When I first saw the teaser, I was pretty impressed, but watching the trailer, I can't help but engage in the act of facepalming. Odd considering how its always been Dreamworks taking after Pixar (Antz from A Bug's Life and Shark Tale from Finding Nemo). It seems the tables have turned. A film that looks like it just came out of the Dreamworks factory. The trailer also really tried to force the Braveheart vibe into the trailer.
I don't see the maturity of Finding Nemo, Wall-E or Up that is usually prevalent in Pixar films (with the exception of the ridiculous Cars 2). And being one of the biggest Pixar fans you'll find, it pains to me say that they aren't doing quite so well after Cars 2. I seriously hope I'm wrong and that this film is way better than I make it to be though.
On the other hand, the music in the trailer is original music from Patrick Doyle...and boy is it awesome! I hear a bit of Thor, but definitely in a more epic fashion (with such a great choral force) that will be a lot more appealing than Thor. I can't wait for this score!

Let's hope Pixar doesn't disappoint, for their sake...

Looks better than the trailer...but it looks nothing like a Pixar film
I see some Pixar in it. So the character design is different than for most Pixar films - but so it was for The Incredibles. And Ratatouille, in fact. And both were very... unusual Pixars as far as story telling goes. And yet they're two of their best.

Pixar trailers are a funny thing though. I remember being completely disinterested in Up, even going so far as to say to friends that I probably wouldn't bother seeing it based on the trailers. My Pixar love prevailed though and within 10 minutes I was a sobbing wreck. I've learned to (cautiously) trust them now and with the exception of the Cars films, they have not let us down yet. Lets face it, Pixar at their worst is still better than most of the other animation houses can put out at their best!

I dunno I actually DID get a Pixar feeling from that clip and it's gone some way in restoring, or even starting my interest in this film. It seems to have the irreverent Pixar humour and attitude to it without the obnoxiousness of some of Dreamwork's efforts.

Fair enough, but Cars 2 was just one big drop for Pixar in terms of quality, thats why I'm a bit skeptical now. The humour in the trailer actually seems more along the veins of a Dreamworks film if you ask me. But like you said, I should probably wait till the film (really hoping to be surprised here...).
What I am eagerly looking forward to is Patrick Doyle's score!

They should have John Williams score a Pixar movie. There's yet to be a Pixar film with a great score. Patrick Doyle is promising though.
I disagree, RATATOUILLE, THE INCREDIBLES, UP and WALL-E are all great scores to me.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep.Forests are boring. Trees are just standing there, doing nothing. Boring!

Ars superior est vita hominum.
"We pop out and come into the world and music is there. We didn't invent it - it's all organised in the atmosphere by divinity or whatever. It's a miracle." - John Williams-
I think music is a stream of some kind. It could be blood. It could be water. It could be ether. Whatever it is it seems to be a living, organic force that’s in motion, that serves humanity and is part of humanity and part of what describes us as humans. We sing, play, dance, all the things that we do. And there is a vibrant and great literature we have been given. ... As musicians, we join the stream. We swim in the stream with all the other millions of music makers. It’s a life force, a strong one, surrounding us and we are part of it. -John Williams-
