Quality movie. I loved the travelling by map gag.

Got fed up with it after a while. Humor was often very vulgar, story the same as Borat and the so-called candid reactions were mostly faked. 4/10

The Amazing Spider-man. I liked this movie quite a bit, certainly much more than the first Raimi effort. Spider-man 2 is still the movie to beat, and this falls a bit short of that level. The Lizard isn't a terrifically interesting villain, but I did like the brute force aspect of the battles. I would love for the sequel to have a more intelligent and clever antihero. That's the main reason I always loved The Joker in the Batman universe. I did like the Peter/Gwen interactions. Since much of the film was setting up Peter Parker, it didn't leave much left for an overall plot, but the one they came up with is servicable. I also loved the movement they gave Spider-man in this, very fluid and graceful, wonderful CGI. I definitely dug the flick, but to me it's all about the next one. If they can build off of this great start, and Marc Webb's direction, then I think this can be an awesome series of films.

"You're not John Conner, I saw you die, said Kyle". "I was only injured, replied John". "No, your injuries were too severe, you died. Look at you, where are your injuries? You're, you're a Terminator." "Kyle, its still me, yes my body was beyond repair, but my essence is here." He points to his head. "No John". Kyle raised his pulse rifle and aimed it at John but before he could fire, John fired first. Knocked to the ground Kyle looked up at the Terminator in the form of the man he once idolized. All hope was lost. "If you kill me how will you ever be born?" "Thats a good question Kyle, all this time we've focus on Sarah, on John, when had we known the it was you we should have targeted all along." John pointed his rifle at Kyle's face. "The resistance is finished, the battle is won. We the machines are the victors, salvation is ours." Kyle never heard the second shot.

Very disappointing. The storytelling is dull, the story uninteresting, and it's one of those movies that isn't scary but 'startling'. The Others is a masterpiece compared to this. 4/10

Also the Guy who Kills People,
and finally
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

Great acting from everyone but the movie lacks humor and energy. Payne did better with Sideways. 6/10

Sounds familiar LOL. Wow. I'll need to watch it again. I didn't get that at all. I thought they did a great job with the severely depressed mental states.
They DID do a great job with the mental states of the characters. It was integral to the entire atmosphere of the film. Everything was masterfully executed.
And I see you and Quint have changed their avatars. Balance is restored at last!

I had a blast. Enjoyed it even more than some of the Henson originals -- sacrilege, I know.

I thought so too. It was well written enough to even mess with my brain at night. I thought it was appropriately melodramatic for its time.
Balance has been restored, for now........

I can see why people who actually likes/enjoys the muppets enjoyed the film, but I don't think I've ever watched anything muppet-related except for the film and a few youtube clips.
but I really tried to like it.

I thought the score was good. I didn't like it when watched it first ,
but since then film scoring (?) has gone down the drain,
so it now sounds better to me

Superbly scripted, and the plot achieves something which I suspected at the beginning, but never seriously thought would follow through (
and To Kill a Mockingbird
A great story which really maintained my interest well, although much of that was Bernstein's wonderful score. Great child performances too.

I have to admit....I didn't hate zimmer's score, thought it worked well within the context of the film. It wasn't mixed so forward like the first film.
then we watched the Boy in the Striped Pajamas.
It's a well made film that leaves you devastated.
"You're not John Conner, I saw you die, said Kyle". "I was only injured, replied John". "No, your injuries were too severe, you died. Look at you, where are your injuries?
