It's almost over.

Overall this might have been the worst year ever!

For me it's been a really good year overall. For some, a challenging one. For others, a bloody nightmare I'm sure.

Oh, that sucks.

On the other hand 2011 was the last one we had. Isn't the world going to kinda end 2012?

2011 certainly wasn't bad for me. A bit low-key and quiet, but at least I got a sense of moving forward. Even if these were just baby steps. Something I couldn't say of 2010.

Karol
From a storytelling point of view, from a directing point of view, there is one thing I associate with what he does, which is calm. There is such an inherent calm and inherent trust of the one powerful image, that he makes me embarrassed with my own work, in terms of how many different shots, how many different sound effects, how many different things we’ll throw at an audience to make an impression. But with Kubrick, there is such a great trust of the one correct image to calmly explain something to audience. There can be some slowness to the editing. There’s nothing frenetic about it. It’s very simple. There’s a trust in simple storytelling and simple image making that actually takes massive confidence to try and emulate. - Christopher Nolan

We've just got back from the outlaws after having dinner there. We're just putting Izzy to bed shortly (later than normal) and then myself and Claire are to have a quiet night in front of the box. Might watch a movie with a glass of wine or two then watch the Big Ben countdown for the spectacular musical fireworks show immediately after. In case I'm not about I bid you all a Happy New Year :)

Overall this might have been the worst year ever!

One of the worst years of my life too. But I've had many of those so I don't think in terms of years anymore.

"Worst" is relative, and Stefan's year doesn't sound all that bad to me. I've had worse shits.

Anyway, hopefully this year will be the beginnings of something better for the sufferers of the world. Maybe KM will finally be given access to some complete recordings.

Overall a meh year for me. Nothing big in terms of change, that'll surely come in 2012 when I'm forced to decide my academic future.

In 50 years Herrmann will be forgotten.

Not a great year for me either, but I've had worse. At least we had some exciting Williams scores to distract us from the bad.

It was, surprisingly, a very good year for me, especialy it's second half. I got over some heath problems and so did my mother, I still have my job (although it's very annoying at times), I finally got my driving license (for which I struggled for quite some time) and I have recently met this cute girl I now date.

It wasn't a bad year for me. Got some great part time jobs, had an orchestra perform my music, got out of a lousy relationship and into a good relationship... and, hey, two new Williams scores!

Mixed year for me, too many dead people.

Among all the things I have done in my short and pitiful life, becoming an inside joke on JWFAN is the one I'm the least proud of.

John Williams sucks, he doesn't write with a quill pen, there is no emotion in pencil music ! Purcell is the man !

Interesting year for me. Got diagnosed with two chronic medical conditions, got my degree, spent the whole second half of the year living in what was supposed to be a temporary home, experienced lots of (positive) changes at work, etc.

People really thought he was a threat, didn't they?
Oh ( r ) well ...

I very much look forward to 2012, let's see what new currency we'll get.

I wish people would stop spamming the BS, even in jest, that the world will end according to the Maya.
Neither will the world "end", nor did the Maya say it would.
I don't know, I just find the lacking desire to understand a great culture slightly bothersome.

Yikes...I've sort of have noticed a trend if one year is bad for someone or people the next year ends up being better.

Last year wasn't really that great for myself as well. Having that seizure was some scary shit.
