The Never-Feast appears to be the old album version.

Crap. Sorry to start the bitching already, but this was perhaps the expansion I was most looking forward to. :(

What could the Farewell Neverland unreleased music be? Does anybody have any idea?

Now I wonder what this is:

10 Prologue (alternate)* 1:35

Could be the album version that is basically just pitched shifted and a bit slower than the actual piece.

Ars superior est vita hominum.

Whatever it is it seems to be a living, organic force that’s in motion, that serves humanity and is part of humanity and part of what describes us as humans. We sing, play, dance, all the things that we do. And there is a vibrant and great literature we have been given. ... As musicians, we join the stream. We swim in the stream with all the other millions of music makers. It’s a life force, a strong one, surrounding us and we are part of it. -John Williams-

IMHO it has the "No More Hook!" tacked at the beginning.
"It's still baffling to me. I sit down with a pencil and a piece of paper and do my best... The remarkable thing is that my music is heard by billions of people." --John Williams

"Let me say, however, there is no "next" John Williams. Sadly, he is unique--- a figure who simultaneously embodies and transcends the music of all the masters of film music who preceded him (much like Brahms and Wagner of the Romantic era). He comes from a time when the craft of music in film was still one of the ear, heart and mind. Today, sadly, the craft is largely technical. Most composers do not conceive their music "inwardly" but rather at the computer--- and with rather limited skills, musically, at that. The inner spirit knows no boundaries--- our plastic abilities, sadly, do. John is a man of spirit, heart, intellect and soaring music." -- Conrad Pope about John Williams

I am hoping I am wrong though. :)

To paraphrase Mr. Arnold from Jurassic Park on this release: It could have been worse John. A lot worse.

Looks like it's not strictly chronological as well (not a huge problem, frankly).

It is an unused piece (heard on various bootlegs though) which I can only speculate to be the original ending of the End Credits or something similar. It contains a beautiful variation on the Neverland Theme. Comments Mr. Takis, Mr. LeBlanc, our resident experts? :)

Looks like it's not strictly chronological as well (not a huge problem, frankly).

In this day and age a minuscule inconvenience easily corrected.

Yes, it's Williams' intended end credits close. The original plan was to have "End Credit" (i.e. the Childhood orchestral variation) segued by "Lost Boy Ballet" with pick-up ending segued then by "Exit Music".

Indeed! If anything, it adds something to the score as a whole. "The vision of the composer," as it were. :)

The chronological order... that's really no big deal. You just watch the movie, there you have it!

Interesting to see Hook's Blues, referring to the scene where he tries to commit suicide, in the bonus material section. This could be the "repetetive material" Williams did not present in the listening experience. I am glad it still found its way into this set though.

And I wonder if Hook-Napped will be presented in the reversed order as on the OST.

All in all I have to say I am thrilled and can't wait to order and have this in my hands. :)

The length of SMEE'S PLAN suggests that it's paired with HOOK'S BLUES, while the alternate just is another version.
You wouldn't see a subtle plan if it painted itself purple and danced naked on top of a harpsichord, singing "Subtle Plans Are Here Again."

The alternate glockenspiel from ARRIVAL OF TINK (forgettable), the Disneyesque food insert and some music for deleted footage they alluded to in the interview.

Since this sucker is an overlong beast, anyway, nothing to be too worried about.

Well, missing music still or not, I am excited for this to be sure and I can't wait to order. :) Either way, we have more music that has never appeared on any bootleg, and even the stuff that has, it's going to sound way better, I imagine.

Some source music like Take Me Out To The Ballgame, and the Christmas carol in the beginning of the film.

Those are not even composed by John Williams. While the completist in me whispers that it would have been nice to get ALL the music, this source stuff is not remotely important.

Well, to me the Food Insert was always the single most important moment missing from the OST, if I had to pinpoint just one .So to me it is a big deal

To put in in perspective, it's about the same as the opening of the ToD End Credits (the short round/Indy theme interpolation) missing from the Concord Box Set. Only a small section of music, yet so important

so it's a shame it's not on this release and the only clean source will always be the Concorde bootleg

The End of Hook should appear at the end of Swordfight, right? Or is it at the beginning of Farewell Neverland? It's the only piece I can't account for here, but the 5 minutes of the swordfight would be my bet.
This piece is about the push and pull of the orchestra. Everyone playing together, making it work, finding out what the important bits are...Of course, we all know that's the trombone part...

Yeah, if you compare the track times with the list here and the OST, it is definitely not there. However, I for one am very happy we have the film version of Flight to Neverland now (that ending was always so much better), and on CD2 we have the film version of Presenting The Hook which I presume has that music where Tink attacks the pirates shortly after their arrival. I agree that I am a little dissapointed not having that insert, though. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't heh. But see, this is why I am glad to see this before actually getting it in the mail and playing it, so I don't get more dissapointed and overreact like I have when getting other things, haha.

Yes I believe it will be there. A logical conclusion to the whole duel. And as Maurizio speculated the No More Hook piece is put together with Farewell to Neverland.

Yes but how they might have edited that cue on this album another matter. Otherwise it leaves the question of what is the new unreleased music in Farewell to Neverland.

Ars superior est vita hominum.

"We pop out and come into the world and music is there. We didn't invent it - it's all organised in the atmosphere by divinity or whatever. It's a miracle." - John Williams-

I think music is a stream of some kind. It could be blood. It could be water. It could be ether. -John Williams-

well, so "no more Hook"-music is included in swordfight, and the unreleased "Farewell"music is something we don't know... or is it the Never-Feast Insert? ;)

I think that by speculating on the track list alone we will be very confused and bewildered before anyone here has even gotten a chance to hear a note of the music. The following days and weeks will be hell.

Sometimes I wonder what some people here spend more energy on: listening to the music that's actually there or complaining about the music that's not!

:P
