It'll probably drop to around $200 when nobody buys it.
That's still WAY too much for an eight-film collection. Warners needs to get off their asses and do a comprehensive Blade Runner/Batman Anthology treatment for their biggest franchise. I'm sick of them constantly pushing out subpar double-dips like the Ultimate Editions, which aren't worth the shelf space or extra money.
That's the only way I'll double dip. Having Harry Potter: Years 1-7.1 plus DH pt. 2 is enough to tide me over until WB gets their act together.

I thought DHp1 was never converted to 3D?
And how in the world do the movies themselves take up 18 discs???????
Includes both DVD and Bluray editions.
I for one, am disaappointed and will not shell out the cash for this.
Yes you are right. Apparently UltraViolet is not a digital copy you get to own - it's a service you sign up for, and whenever you want to what "your" digital copy you have to stream it through a live internet connection. lame!
So then it must be:
8 Blu Rays (1 for each movie)
8 DVDs (1 for each movie)
2 Blu Rays for 3D versions of DH
= 18 discs
What about the special features Blu-ray discs from the Ultimate Edition releases? That would make 24 discs.

Hmmm, maybe they threw in the 2-CD Complete Editions of the OS soundtrack of all movies, as well!

Well there's your answer right there. Harry Potter is their biggest franchise, so they can and are getting away with all the double dips. They know people will continue to cough up their money, and people are.

Harry Potter sucks, so it doesn't matter to me either way. I only like Prisoner Of Azkaban.

Actually Harry Potter doesn't suck at all! It's one of the best franchises of all time, on the same level as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, James Bond, etc.
But I realized that personally I am only interested in the first 3 movies, for obvious reasons.

Yeah, harry potter is one of the best, and stayed consistently well-made throughout the entire series, and never really dipped in quality (imo), and there's not much franchises that don't do that, much less an 8-film-series franchise.
Quality wise, I think the series has its highs and lows. Highs being PS/SS, POA, OOTP, DH2 to banal mediocrity being COS, GOF, HBP, with DH1 being somewhere in the middle.

"You're not John Conner, I saw you die, said Kyle". "I was only injured, replied John". "No, your injuries were too severe, you died. Look at you, where are your injuries? You're, you're a Terminator." "Kyle, its still me, yes my body was beyond repair, but my essence is here." He points to his head. "No John". Kyle raised his pulse rifle and aimed it at John but before he could fire, John fired first. Knocked to the ground Kyle looked up at the Terminator in the form of the man he once idolized. All hope was lost. "If you kill me how will you ever be born?" "Thats a good question Kyle, all this time we've focus on Sarah, on John, when had we known the it was you we should have targeted all along." John pointed his rifle at Kyle's face. "The resistance is finished, the battle is won. We the machines are the victors, salvation is ours." Kyle never heard the second shot.

Besides, if the DVDs are as cheap as these companies say they are, then the price of this thing should be much lower. Maybe $150. Or no more than the LOTR set.

I'd hide it under a stack of gay porn.
Much less embarrassing to be seen with that then a Harry Potter box set...
Um, well...

my comment is not valid with either of those two things, but pop culture, specifically Peter on Family Guy. Unlike Peter I have never participated in an eleven way.Is the ban on politics and religion optional these days?

Human aggression is instinctual. Humans have not evolved any ritualised aggression-inhibiting mechanisms to ensure the survival of the species. For this reason man is considered a very dangerous animal.

That's correct. And there are more deleted scenes out there for those films - in fact all 8 films - that were not included in the special features of the original DVD/Blu releases - and also didn't appear on the Ultimate Edition sets, and also won't be appearing in this new 31 disc set! Very annoying.
Hence, another reason I'm not buying this.

Indeed. I'd love to see Rik Mayall's Peeves, the Brain room from OotP or Emma Thompson playing drunk in PoA. So much great stuff we know was filmed. Just annoying.
