Discuss!
(The Shoah Foundation extras that we currently have is nice, but not exactly movie-related.)

By the way, I'd love to see a making of the film... but maybe that will never be released.

Pretty sure I remember an article about this. Spielberg was the one who stopped any kind of "bonus features" being attached to this film because he felt it was inappropriate given the subject matter. I understand his reasoning and personally think it's the right choice.
Well, yes, I understand that... but still, almost 20 years after the movie was released, I'd like to know about the making of the film too. (Tastefully done, needless to say.)
Kinda like SPR the Special Edition!

It's true Spielberg doesn't want to capitalize on this particular film, but it's likely we'll see something on the upcoming Blu-ray release however, probably a brand new making-of documentary produced by Bouzereau with interviews at cast & crew.
If you want a really good making-of piece about Schindler's List, read this wonderful book written by a Polish journalist who followed closely the shooting of the whole film:

"Let me say, however, there is no "next" John Williams. Sadly, he is unique--- a figure who simultaneously embodies and transcends the music of all the masters of film music who preceded him (much like Brahms and Wagner of the Romantic era). He comes from a time when the craft of music in film was still one of the ear, heart and mind. Today, sadly, the craft is largely technical. Most composers do not conceive their music "inwardly" but rather at the computer--- and with rather limited skills, musically, at that. The inner spirit knows no boundaries--- our plastic abilities, sadly, do. John is a man of spirit, heart, intellect and soaring music." -- Conrad Pope about John Williams

That'd be fantastic!
And I am hoping we will get a Special Edition DVD too. (Or I will just have to get a Bluray player...)

I am hoping for a blooper reel!
there is tons of stuff on the net, there is the crying scene from near the end except Liam Neeson keeps breaking into laughter during the sequence. He did it 3 or 4 times, it's hilarious to watch. He's crying saying I could have saved more then he breaks into laughter and says no I couldn't....
"You're not John Conner, I saw you die, said Kyle". "I was only injured, replied John". "No, your injuries were too severe, you died. Look at you, where are your injuries? You're, you're a Terminator." "Kyle, its still me, yes my body was beyond repair, but my essence is here." He points to his head. "No John". Kyle raised his pulse rifle and aimed it at John but before he could fire, John fired first. Knocked to the ground Kyle looked up at the Terminator in the form of the man he once idolized. All hope was lost. "If you kill me how will you ever be born?" "Thats a good question Kyle, all this time we've focus on Sarah, on John, when had we known the it was you we should have targeted all along." John pointed his rifle at Kyle's face. "The resistance is finished, the battle is won. We the machines are the victors, salvation is ours." Kyle never heard the second shot.

then there's the one that got pulled from Youtube within a few hours after it first appeared, were Spielberg is heard whispering to Liam Neeson that he doesn't buy this Holocaust bullshit at all....
"Let's face it Liam, 6 million people don't just disappear!"

look harder, it should be next to John's rejected score for Color Purple.

I prefer the concert version of Tintin's theme.Hopefully LLL will release that next. It's possible the nest John Williams music thats still officially unreleased.
1. Nightwatch/Killer By Night - Johnny Williams and Quincy Jones 2. Diamond Head/Gone with the Wave - Johnny Williams/Lalo Schifrin 3. Mass - Leonard Bernstein 4. Bernstein with the New York Philharmonic - Leonard Bernstein

that is why DVD and BluRay are great, there is room for that stuff and I want to know as much about a movie and the processes used to make the film, especially genre or historical films. But still... I'd like to see the documentaries on MAKING of the film.

Yes.
These Special Features add to the enjoyment of the movie, more often than not! Makes you appreciate it even more, when you see all the work that went into creating it...
