YES. lol. oddly, if you see photos of goldsmith when he was younger, Hoffman does semi resemble him.

He could be Bernstein's close-up nose double.

Ars superior est vita hominum.

"We pop out and come into the world and music is there. We didn't invent it - it's all organised in the atmosphere by divinity or whatever. It's a miracle." - John Williams-

I think music is a stream of some kind. It could be blood. It could be water. It could be ether. Whatever it is it seems to be a living, organic force that’s in motion, that serves humanity and is part of humanity and part of what describes us as humans. We sing, play, dance, all the things that we do. And there is a vibrant and great literature we have been given. ... As musicians, we join the stream. We swim in the stream with all the other millions of music makers. It’s a life force, a strong one, surrounding us and we are part of it. -John Williams-

Personally, no. (well i could take a photo with him) i was forbidden by the organisation. I wanted to record him giving salutes to 'his fans at JWfan'. but when i called him in one of the breaks the organiser got him to the vip room, he didnt notice :(

On the questions time after his speech, I was the one who asked him how he came with the idea of all those puns in his tracklists...and i think i ruined the magic for everyone :P

His sister made us a personal small interview though... how embarrasing, i wonder what Michael thought when he saw that...

I do not want to see a movie about John Williams! A documentary yes, a fictionalized film, no way.
OH God, Joe is posting again, someone hand me my pills!

"You're not John Conner, I saw you die, said Kyle". "I was only injured, replied John". "No, your injuries were too severe, you died. Look at you, where are your injuries? You're, you're a Terminator." "Kyle, its still me, yes my body was beyond repair, but my essence is here." He points to his head. "No John". Kyle raised his pulse rifle and aimed it at John but before he could fire, John fired first. Knocked to the ground Kyle looked up at the Terminator in the form of the man he once idolized. All hope was lost. "If you kill me how will you ever be born?" "Thats a good question Kyle, all this time we've focus on Sarah, on John, when had we known the it was you we should have targeted all along." John pointed his rifle at Kyle's face. "The resistance is finished, the battle is won. We the machines are the victors, salvation is ours." Kyle never heard the second shot.

His life is too boring for a film.

Most of the movie would be one score writing montage after another. A few clips of Boston Pops intrigue and then more monastic writing in his studio.

Good point, since they ( hollywood ) had to fictionalize the lives of the classic composers already. WHo knows what they would make williams out to be.
I can see it now " actually if you didn't know Williams was the inspiration behind indiana jones. While working on star wars, wlliams reveled to lucas his secret side job as an archaeologist ..."

Must admit there are a few here where I don't really see the resemblance -- young Bernstein, Giacchino/Vaugn, Portman/Defoe (obviously a joke), Herrmann and Previn.

Btw, for Herrmann, I think Hamlisch could have been a good choice, had he been an actor:

Posted Image

But if you had to go with an actor, I'd choose Michael Lerner:

And if they ever make a film about Pope Benedict, get Robert Blake out of prison, he, he....
