And somewhere in the quarter final it will all be over.
And about my own team.
Our performance at the Word Cup has raised expectations enormously, but we are in a Poole Of Death. And if we have to get through a penalty round we will be doomed.
Our side is one of the stronger contestants though. With Germany and Spain.
Is France still rubbish?

I've got a ticket for Spain-Croatia or Spain-Ireland so I can see one of those.
Karol
Both will take place in Gdańsk, so we could meet and have some beer.

Like I said in another thread. The English will do their usual thing, Lots of drama, WAGS, tabloids. I'm sure the anticipation had built up by now. Brian Blessed's voice calling your team to glory. And somewhere in the quarter final it will all be over.
I think those pathetic days are behind us now, but the most immediate problem really is that we do not know what "days" we are in now...we have no identity, we have little pride in the team, and we have little faith. Quarter finals? Yeah, that's our usual place to disappear from things, but this year the team need to step up and show England, Europe and the World what great players we really have. England's year? As I said - ever the blind optimist, but at least this time round we don't have the stupid games and carnival that's been such a problem for our National Team in the past.

By the way, did anyone watch the BBC Panorama documentary yesterday about football hooligans in Poland and Ukraine? Bloody hell - I've been to plenty of games with tasty atmospheres before but some of those Kharkiv neanderthals were proper naughty. I've never had the shit kicked out of me by my fellow supporters before!
@ Merkel - yes, Shrek will miss the first two games after being needlessly sent off against Montenegro.

They even had to call up two players from the first division, I seem to recall.
True, but in fairness both are goalkeepers (Robert Green of West Ham, who just got promoted back to the Premier League, and Jack Butland of Birmingham City) so unless Joe Hart gets injured or sent off, neither is likely to play. I have heard good things about Butland (*snigger*) when he has played for England U21's while John Ruddy of Norwich City may well have made the squad had he not got injured.
I think our wild card might be teenager Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. I saw him when he played for Southampton against City a couple of seasons ago and he was a cut above even then. I am also secretly hoping that Andy Carroll might find some form (and some decent service from the wings) after a disappointing season, as long as he can stay off the sauce for long enough.

It's England's year....after an horrific 12 months involving the National team, we need a trophy. It's our turn at long last.
The English always say this before a tournament, and they always get squat.
Germany will not make it to the quarterfinals, in our group Portugal and Denmark will go through.
Finals will be Spain vs. Italy and Italy will win.

If England wins the Euro Cup I will drink a glass of my own warm urine and put a movie of it on Youtube!
Like you don't do that anyway!

Likely winners are Spain, Germany, France. Hell, maybe even the Netherlands or Russia.

Like Greece (God knows they can use a morale boost as a country right now), or Portugal, Poland, Sweden, or Ukraine.

Greece shouldn't even be allowed to participate. They'll soon be kicked out of Europe anyway...

I like Greece. Great beaches and islands... spent more than a few holidays there myself!

I'm telling you, don't underestimate the swedes!
On second thought, strike Sweden from the list of possible winners.
They already won the Eurovision Song Contest, I think that's enough!
