It's very good.

I don't know. Norah Jones has a good ear. Does that make her attractive?

Oh wait! She is attractive! ;)

You are such a smoothie de-SPLAT!

Ars superior est vita hominum.

"We pop out and come into the world and music is there. We didn't invent it - it's all organised in the atmosphere by divinity or whatever. It's a miracle." - John Williams-

I think music is a stream of some kind. It could be blood. It could be water. It could be ether. Whatever it is it seems to be a living, organic force that’s in motion, that serves humanity and is part of humanity and part of what describes us as humans. We sing, play, dance, all the things that we do. And there is a vibrant and great literature we have been given. ... As musicians, we join the stream. We swim in the stream with all the other millions of music makers. It’s a life force, a strong one, surrounding us and we are part of it. -John Williams-

It suddenly seemed relevant for the first time since the World Cup. Probably because vuvuzelas were mentioned on this very page.

What a nice denouement for this innocent discussion about vuvuzelas.

I've been playing percussion for more than 15 years now and regularly play semi-professionally, mostly in symphony orchestra. With my girlfriend who is also a musician (she plays flute), we attend and play in World Youth Wind Orchestra every year in Schladming, Austria (this year's "edition" of Mid Europe, Europe's largest wind music festival, comes in a month) and we also play together in an Irish music band (I play bodhrán and sing). For 12 years, I've also been playing (mostly timpani) in a concert band but I quit two years ago after we moved to our new place.

I dedicate a lot of my time to playing and practicing and I very much like doing it so I totally look forward to doing it for many years to come! :rimshot: :D

My mom always says if she could hug and thank two people it'd be J.K. Rowling and John Williams. Rowling because I hated reading before the Harry Potter series came out, now I never stop reading. As for Mr. Williams, I started piano back when I was eight (I'm twenty now) and I loved playing but was not a big fan of my teacher, she was young and had very little patience for kids so I always wanted to quit. But when I was ten-ish I bought my first film score (Harry Potter) and ever since then I loved playing Williams' scores.
I don't play as much as I used to and I have definitely lost my touch but whenever I get upset or angry or even really happy I head straight for my piano and play a Williams' score that goes along with my mood.

Piano. Lets see... I probably started playing in 1994... so 18 years? I out grew my first piano teacher after a year and a half... At first I wasn't interested in playing, then once I heard Elton John's version of Can you Feel the Love Tonight, I just can't wait to be king, and circle of life. That changed everything. I so wanted to play like that... especially the solo in I just can't wait to be king.
