They said he bought 6000 rounds of ammo on the internet and 4 assault rifles, so it seems he planned this for a while. It seems that the discussion is going to be veering more towards gun control than violence in films

Gropings at cinemas? I guess after a number of dates, it'd be ok. Might be better to just save the ticket price and go elsewhere, though.
Better yet, a club, or my place.

I'm just waiting for them to find violent video games in his apartment.
Yeah, and his computer turned on, with his internet browser displaying a JWFAN forum page.

Yes, that's a better idea.

Sounds like this kid is trying to be some crazy Joker like character...
Shooter looked like and said he was the Joker.
What did I tell ya folks?
A storm is coming, and Nolan's latest film is right in its way. How unfortunate.

I'm not sure it will affect this film directly, but possibly films that might not be made in the future because of this.

I'm waiting for the movie they'll make about the gay porn star who was sent on that manhunt fiasco lately.

If you put John Williams in a dryer, you get Jerry Goldsmith! You get the downside version!

??? Since when is doing something nice for a group of people that are traumatized, in physical danger and/or grieving over the deaths of loved ones squeezing an event for "every last drop of shock and ratings value"?Oh now Bale visits everyone. This is getting ridiculous. Sucks that people got killed. But can the world move on or are we gonna squeeze this for every last drop of shock and ratings value?

"Hey look I know your buddy in the movie theater with you had his brain splattered against the seat behind him...but now you get to meet me. Someone who has no relation to this ordeal other than being on the screen while you were shot. WOO!"
Gimme a break, it would be like John Williams showing up at my funeral because I was listening to Star Wars as I swerved off a cliff.

He doesn't need to be there, just like nobody needs to donate to charity. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be a positive thing to do. He was doing a nice thing for a group of people that went through a traumatic incident, why are you criticizing his decision?
Because there's a distinct possibility he's doing it for the publicity.

He specifically told the hospitals to not alert the media.

You're joking right? Like he conveniently forgets that his every move is not tracked by the paparazzi?
He visited 7 of 58 injured. If he wanted to keep it on the down-low he could have arranged to call them instead of flying over with his whole entourage. If he genuinely cared about the victims, why talk to 7 and not the other 51 survivors?
His agent probably told him he needs to do this.

Blum, you're being an even bigger prick than Bale. And Bale is a BIG prick.
Yes. Except... yeah Bale is a hot-headed ass, sometimes, but then, he does this. So he's not a basket case.
People were expecting that the drama would affect the box-office. Well, it did, TDKR had the most successful opening weekend for a 2D movie.
Before TDK was released, Heath Ledger died.
When TDKR was released, 12 people were killed in a massacre and many more were critically injured.
I am certainly not the only one who starts to suspect that the whole Batman series (by Nolan) is cursed...

BURN THE NEGATIVE OF "TDKR", AND, FOR THAT MATTER, "TDK"!
A man walks into a cinema wearing a gas-mask, and full body armor, with dyed-red hair, and calling himself The Joker. He then proceeds to kill numerous people, and injur more.
It's not rocket science: these type of films are seriously fucking-up young lives. How do I know? I know because I work with young people who, after years of watching films like "TDKR", and playing very violent video games, get admitted to my hospital with either severe psychosis, or some sort of embryonic personality disorder.
Films like "TDKR" are, imo, directly responsible for the absolutely horiffic behaviour of some young people today, and if they are not responsible, then they are accountable. The families of the dead should sue Warner Bros. for the loss of their loved ones. Holmes is just the sign: flims like this are the true symptoms.
True; most people are able to tell the difference between reality and fantasy. I deal with those who can't.
Before you all start blasting me, and calling me a troll, ask yourself this question: if "TDKR" had not been made, would Holmes have killed all those people, and also if they knew that, on its opening night, such a thing would happen, would Warner Bros. have made the film? No film is worth dying for, or dying over. I hope that Hollywood learns a lesson over this, even if it is a tragic, and very painful one.
