I'm glad Quint saw the irony in it, and it's not political at all. Those people spend their entire lives running from point A to point B, and become quite good at it. They come here, they kick butt, win the prize money, go home, share with the village, and then start prepping for next year's race.

I bet I wasn't the only Brit with a lump in my throat when Sophie Hosking and Kath Copeland started tearing up during God Save the Queen in the medal ceremony. Even the Chinese girl next to them started blubbing and it wasn't even her anthem!
