indy4 160 Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I vote for Daily Show. Both are funny, but Colbert gets old after a while, and his show relies too much on puns. Daily Show addresses the issues better I think, and the fact that he doesn't need to be playing one character allows him to play a variety of characters, but still wrap things up as Jon Stewart in a very honest, three-dimensional way. Also his interviews are way better, in that he's not interrupting the interviewee every five seconds to tell a joke. I think his interviews are in many ways better than the main stream news interviews, but that's another discussion.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,383 Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 BothThey complement each other well. Colbert is able to go more far out, but it's harder for him to be serious and tell viewers how he really feels without dropping his persona.
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 BothThey complement each other well. Colbert is able to go more far out, but it's harder for him to be serious and tell viewers how he really feels without dropping his persona.Did you see him interview Peter Jackson? He completely dropped the act when he started explaining Tolkien history to Peter.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,383 Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I currently have no TV subscription. But i'm not surprised. He is a massive Tolkien fan.Youtube link?

Ollie 1,375 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Real Time With Bill MaherI wouldn't give that fuckwad the satisfaction of viewing his crap.I actually like both Colbert and Stewart, each is unique.
Brónach 1,330 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Both sound like something I wouldn't watch.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Real Time With Bill MaherI wouldn't give that fuckwad the satisfaction of viewing his crap.I actually like both Colbert and Stewart, each is unique.Maher is my favorite atheist alongside Gervais!
Ollie 1,375 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Gervais is funny, Maher isn't.Their religious preferences don't factor either.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I feel like we discussed this before. Facebook status maybe? I love his documentary Religulous, but then again it helps if you think he's funny like I do.
Ollie 1,375 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 No, actually we haven't.At least I don't recall discussing it.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Oh well. I voted for Colbert, though I don't really watch either of them.
indy4 160 Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 Maher is funny, but he can be a bit of a dick at times.

Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Maher is funny, but he can be a bit of a dick at times. That's why I love him
Wojo 2,458 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 were is the I don't care for either option.Seconded.
Wycket 36 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Colbert I feel is able to present stuff in a much more entertaining way than Stewart at this point. Plus, Stewart has the advantages of being surrounded by funny comedians to help the story while Colbert is doing it pretty much exclusively by himself. I enjoy Stewart, but he can get far too preachy at times that can be grating. I feel Colbert does a better job at interviewing guests, especially since most of his are authors and politicians.
