#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Is there any article, interview or any documented evidence to suggest JW has read LOTR, or possibly any of Tolkien's other works?
Jilal 681 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Considering his love for reading, I'm sure he read it.
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 He read Lord of the Rings right after he composed the music to Back to the Future and Legend of Zelda.
Uni 307 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Of course. It's what made him brilliant.(You're just rubbing salt, aren't you? I knew you still had it in you, old dog. )- Uni
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 JW has a great love of trees, he would love Fangorn
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I certainly appreciate all the fine music Williams wrote for French Huorn.
Cantus Venti 13 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I don't know, does John Williams have time for normal people stuff?
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I wish he composed Moria Westerns..
Uni 307 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Oh, man. . . . How long before hear about how he no longer accepts invitations to conduct the Isengard Symphony Orcestra?- Uni
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I heard he likes to go to the Greenwood Music Festival.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 John Williams wrote The Lord Of The Rings. 'Tolkien' is just a pen name.
indy4 160 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I wonder which subforum this thread will go under...
Quintus 6,496 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 John is a goose-stepping moron who should try reading books instead of burning them.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 The baton is mightier then the pen...
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 John is a goose-stepping moron who instead of burning books should try reading them.To be honest, I doubt Williams can read.
Quintus 6,496 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 John is a goose-stepping moron who instead of burning books should try reading them.To be honest, I doubt Williams can read.Possibly. Have you seen the state of his handwriting? It's all squiggles and lines, like gobbledygook.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Some claim to be able to read it
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Doesn't he just write an "X" when asked an autograph? I think I remember people mentioning that.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Like that "rubbed the wrong way" fella
Quintus 6,496 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 He likes to get people excited that there's treasure buried underneath.
Uni 307 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 He likes to get people excited that there's treasure buried underneath. ROTFLMAO Except he should know that "X" never, ever marks the spot. . . .- Uni
KK 3,313 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Without Lord of the Rings, Williams' career would never have lifted off. He's been wearing a one ring replica around his neck since he read the book. And he's been plotting Shore's death ever since he got hired to score the films.
Uni 307 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 "Thief Shoreseses. . . . It stole our preeeeciouuuuussssss. . . ."
chuck 155 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Heh heh. John Williams is the "sixth" of The Five Wizards. I don't know his Elvish name but in the common tongue he is known as Turtleneck the Black. KK 1
KK 3,313 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Williams forged the one baton to rule them all to cast his everlasting shadow over all film music. Unfortunately Hans Zimmer created an alliance with his fellow synth programmers and overthrew him. Today, he is known as Towner the Accursed, or Towner the Emotionally Manipulative.
Uni 307 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Heh heh. John Williams is the "sixth" of The Five Wizards. I don't know his Elvish name but in the common tongue he is known as Turtleneck the Black.Gandalf's description, from The Book of WAY Unfinished Tales:"He is a master of notes and changes of key and all things that involve union musicians. He is also the only wizard among our order who actually carries a wand."
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 Ive missed you Uni-bomber.....

Turtleneck defeated Ponytail with a simple flick of his wand.
crocodile 9,724 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Is has trees in it, even talking ones, so he probably did. Karol Incanus 1
Incanus 5,890 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Is has trees in it, even talking ones, so he probably did. KarolMy thoughts exactly!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 I am sorry but you got it wrong.Jerry is Common Speech for Eru meaning "The One", or "He that is Alone" and Goldsmith translates as Ilúvatar which signifies "Father of All".
crocodile 9,724 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 From what I remember it is widely believed Horner in the ancient Anduinic meant "He Who Can Summon The Dead". However, other scholars disagree pointing at the obscurity of the language, which causes a lot of translating problems. The other version is that it means "He Who Never Changes". As you can see there is a substantial difference.Giacchino, on the other hand, is quite simple. It means "The Usurper".Karol
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 Or The Upstart in the Beleriand form
Quintus 6,496 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 In the black speech he is called Gia the Undeserved.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 I like you today!
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 In the Sindarin, its said that Rosenman means "The Uninvested" or "The Uninterested"
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 To take this thread towards some value, and it is difficult, given that Stefan Cosman started it, we are quite frankly dragging ourselves out of a deep hole of dung...While I think John Williams is an avid reader, I don't really believe he is a fantasy and science fiction man. I imagine he reads a lot of non-fiction.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 To take this thread towards some value, and it is difficult, given that Stefan Cosman started itOuch!Fuck man....
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 I mourned for you while you left man....I guess it did not mean anything!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 Serves me right for trying to have a friendship with another male. They never work out....
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 IT'S NO LONGER A FRIENDSHIP WHEN YOU TOUCH ME LIKE THAT.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 It just looked like you needed a hug. and that bulge was just my phone ok!
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 No. JW uses sheet music as toilet paper.
