filmmusic 3,269 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Just was wondering, because I think just now I have heard Silvestri's theme from The Bodyguard around 10-12 times in a row.
indy4 160 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I stopped doing this, because I found it can permanently ruin the emotional effect a piece has on me. Now I try to leave at least a day or two between listens. But I used to do it, and the culprit was probably "Swing Swing Swing" or an action cue from TPM.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 In 10th grade I was up for a good amount of time churning out an English paper. I had a boot recording of Roar! from Cloverfield looped throughout that whole writing process. Must have listened to it for an hour and a half straight.
Jilal 681 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I don't like doing that for the same reason as indy, but I listened to The Coming Storm and Hungry Raptor about 5-6 times in a row.
Brónach 1,330 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Sometimes I discover something and casually listen to it for an hour straight and then move on to something else.I find that musical epetition helps me concentrate on what I'm doing, for some reason.
Richard P 5,302 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Lately, I've been listening to The Coming Storm rather a lot - it's almost surreal to have those 3 cues cleanly. But in terms of consecutive listens, Campfire from Jon Hopkins' Monsters. A beautiful, tranquil, repeated piano motif which I wish someone would remix into a 20 minute track. I spent one journey home from work (~20 mins) repeatedly replaying it.
ShowUStheHOOK 8 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 speaking in a genre thats not 100 percent film score.... for me, its Sanctuary! from Hunchback of Notre Dame by Alan Menken
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Lately, I've been listening to The Coming Storm rather a lot - it's almost surreal to have those 3 cues cleanly.I know! it almost sounds wrong not to have those thunder sfx lol.
Andy 7,730 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 For whatever reason, I think I played The Land Race from Far and Away about eight times today.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 there are drugs that lesson the effects of OCD. ;)
