filmmusic 3,269 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 ...other than John Williams', who would it be?My answer:Jerry Goldsmithi am just curious to know, whose composer other than Williams, you would be a die hard fan, so as to try to own not only his complete discography, but his complete filmography too, even if he has scored bad films or films you don't care for..

JoeinAR 1,957 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 you will likely enjoy that greatly. Jerry and the 70's...good times.

publicist 4,650 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 to bad there is no US release yet. great score, not so great a film but still truly disturbing.I kind of like it...the score helps to sell the whole grand guignol absurdity. And it sure is the work of a master composer.
Marian Schedenig 11,694 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 My answer: Jerry Goldsmith Thumbs up from me. Goldsmith is always singled out as supposedly having scored mostly bad movies. But people usually disregard the sheer number of films he worked on. True, he had his share of stinkers, higher than Williams, perhaps higher than the average composer (and still for the most part good scores, some even among his best). But he also has a considerable number of first rate films, especially in the 60s and 70s.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 MorriconeEDIT: Oops, this says filmography. Err, no one.
Kendal_Ozzel 36 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 [...] That and The Wind And The Lion.Yup. And there's a film that needs a Blu-ray release.
Thor 9,362 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Danny Elfman and Elliot Goldenthal, probably. But every composer -- even my favourites -- have their fair share of duds too, so it would be limited to those I have a completist relationship to.Beyond that, I want films on Bluray that are good FILMS. Well, first I need to get a Bluray player and a new TV, but that's a different question.
