Scream

Needed: Varèse Deluxe Edition and bootleg. Just take the Deluxe Edition and pull the missing tracks from the bootleg. Those need to have their volume raised, though. Tracklist:

30 Prescott's Car

31 Killer Stabs Billy

32 Hairbrush

I haven't rewatched the film though - I presume the bootleg's order was correct (apart from having the End Credits track a few tracks earlier).

I watched the film through recently. According to your list it should go 30, 32 then 31. Otherwise everything else is correct.

Additionally, I also posted the other Scream films here.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Alice in Wonderland (CSSB)

25, 2, 26 (:00-:26), 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 8, 11, 26 (:26-End), 27, 12, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 14, 15, 17, 33, 46 (Parapet), 16, 34, 18, 20*, 35*, 21, 42 (Futterwacken), 22, 23, 1

* = Tracks 20 and 35 are spliced together in the movie. The transition between tracks is jarring, no matter what is done. This is the best chronological order without major editing.

Bonus/Unused Tracks:

7, 10, 13, 19, 24, 45 (Alternate Main Titles), 36, 37, 38, 39

I found the For Your Consideration promo and added it to the list. It adds a few minutes to the existing releases.

Thanks for the correction on Scream - I changed it. Should have known by the titles alone that that one was wrong!

Yeah I saw that addition on Alice; I'll take a look at arranging everything available in order in two weeks or so myself. At first glance I'm noticing a mistake - the Proposal/Down the Hole track on the promo should be put in the main order - as it has the orchestral choir rather than the synth choir on the OST.

I don't know if you're a Twin Peaks fan, but have you taken a look at putting everything from Twin Peaks in chrono order? There are some great breakdowns over at the Dugpa forum, but they're massive lists and none of them is in the traditional 'editing guide' format.

Ah, thanks for mentioning that. I recall hearing that when I was going through the tracks but apparently I forgot during editing. I corrected it on the post I linked to and gave you credit for that. Please let me know if you find anything else.

I haven't ever seen Twin Peaks but I've heard many great things about it. That might be something I need to explore.

Here is a revised chronological order of the Amistad album. The final track Dry Your Tears Afrika (Reprise) is just a clean opening edit of the track 1. Track 1 is also the actual first part of End Credits.

The humming of Cinque's Theme in the opening of track 1 is tracked into several places in the film and appears as the main titles music which is why I decided to put it first in the list.

Track 7 The Long Road to Justice does not appear anywhere in the film itself but as the second part of the End Credits.

Track 4 Cinque's Theme seems to be either a pure concert arrangement or an alternate for one of the cues in the film.

Amistad (1997)

Chronological Album Sequence

1. Dry Your Tears Afrika (Track 1 0:00-0:22)

2. July 4, 1839 (Track 8)

3. Sierra Leone, 1839 and the Capture of Cinque (Track 2)

4. Mr. Adams Takes the Case (Track 9, 0:00-3:47)

5. La Amistad Remembered (Track 10)

6. Mr. Adams Takes the Case (Track 9, 3:47-end)

7. Cinque’s Memories of Home (Track 5)

8. Crossing the Atlantic (Track 3)

9. Middle Passage (Track 6)

10. Cinque’s Theme (Track 4)

11. Liberation of Lomboko (0:00-1:56)

12. Adams’ Summation (Track 12)

13. Liberation of Lomboko (1:57-end)

14. Going Home (Track 13)

15 Dry Your Tears Afrika (Track 1)

16. The Long Road to Justice (Track 7)

Anybody have a chronological order for Thor?

Thor Kills the Destroyer is the Yggdrasil cue at the end, right after Can You See Jane?. I think there's a difference in pitch for some reason. The real Thor Kills the Destroyer is not on the OST (ridiculous listening decision). Earth to Asgard is said to be an alternate of something. That's all I know.

could it be pitch shifted in the film? kind of like in Superman the movie?

which version of Thor Kils the Destroyer is the Yggdrasil cue? and what is the OST version vs. the unused version, and the Version 1 that was used in the end credits?

I'm only familiar with the End Credits cue in the OST and in the film, I don't know what else there is.

This is the film one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0fkpdg1ml0

Then there's this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ls3dNMzLOOg

I'm under the impression, due to the Sons of Odin theme and the change later at 0:34 (is that an edit or weird writing?), that this is an alternate of the actual Thor Kills the Destroyer cue and not the Yggdrasil cue.

Because the film version of Thor Kills the Destroyer is this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxXHc9p8hqg

And I also don't know if there's an edit here in the tornado sfx moment.

I'm confused.

Apparently its a "remix" of "Prologue"

Link to comment

Earth to Asgard is the second half of the end credits, after the album version of Thor Kills The Destroyer and the Foo Fighters song.

Unfortunately, very few of the film versions made the album IIRC.

Wow. Six years to the day after I originally posted what I thought was the chronological list to this score (see post #257) I've all but completed listing this score in order.

Two tracks that remained unsequenced, "Kilrain's Ride" and "Dawn" puzzled me to no end as to their place in the film and I even doubted they were actually used in the film. I revisited Gettysburg again after I started watching part of the film again yesterday and even though I had not watched the parts where the below mentioned tracks are in the film it triggered something. So I was able to go back and....lo and behold I was able to finally place them in the film.

"Kilrain's Ride" is incorrectly titled and has nothing to do with the character of "Buster" Kilrain and is heard, slightly truncated, during the scene where General Lee says 'My orders to all Commanders, attack!". While mainly used in the scene above however, I believe approximately the last 30 seconds may be used in the scene where General Longstreet is talking with General Pickett about bringing up his Regiment into Gettysburg by the following night.

"Dawn" is heard the morning after the battle of Little Round Top where the Chamberlain brothers are sitting on the rocks before being told they're to move to the centre of the Union lines. The track as heard in the film is shorter and the remaining music may be used in an as yet unidentified scene.

Hybrid Soldier on Hans-Zimmer.com (who helps maintain the website and knows Zimmer personally) put this on there:

My time to play the game of correect order. And trust me that one is 100% true :

01 - A Storm Is Coming (Opening Logo)

02 - Gotham's Reckoning (Prologue)

03 - Mind If I Cut In? (mix between the Safe scene & the Airport scene)

04 - Nothing Out There

05 - On Thin Ice (when Blake visits Bruce)

06 - Risen From Darkness (Batpod Chase)

07 - Fear Will Find You (Bat & Cat fight the thugs on the rooftop)

08 - Death By Exile (Bane talks to Wayne in Prison)

09 - The Fire Rises (mix between a part of the Bane Suite + Bane's Speech)

10 - Born In Darkness

11 - Underground Army (when the two outside cops get in the team and caught by Bane)

12 - Why Do We Fall?

13 - Despair (Bruce returns to Gotham)

14 - All Out War (mix between Bat & Cat talking and Bruce bagged to Fox)

15 - Necessary Evil (Big revelation)

16 - No Stone Unturned (mix between the last action sequence & The Harvey Dent Speech at the beginning of the movie)

17 - Rise (Ending)

Imagine The Fire is just part of the Wayne Manor suite, and The End & The Shadows Betray You are more like suites too... :)

Tomorrow Never Dies

Sources:

- Soundtrack: the first soundtrack

- Score: the expanded soundtrack

- Boot: the German bootleg with pressed CDs

(So far it’s the best mixed version of the DVD isolated score I’ve heard. It’s still not perfect, since the the volume fluctuations on the isolated score are really terrible.)

By the way, the isolated score on the Blu-ray is reportedly also lossy and only very marginally better than the DVD. I found this helpful quote on some forum: “The isolated score track on it is only one incremental step up from the DVD release in terms of quality: The DVD was Dolby Digital 2.0 at 192kbps. The Blu-ray is Dolby Digital 2.0 at 224kbps. 224kbps is the next level up before the maximum bitrate for 2.0, which is 384kbps. So it's not (in my opinion) worth the minor difference in bitrate to rip it from the Blu-ray disc.” And somebody else commented: “Bit rates aside, if you compare the quality of the blu-ray with the original DVD release, to my ears the DVD is noticeably better.”

- DVD: your own isolated score rip

(The bootleg doesn’t have everything on it. Don’t forget the PAL speed-up if applicable.)

Notes:

Along the way you'll have to adjust the volume on the tracks. The party music isn't by Arnold and is not included here. I believe there is some tracked music in the isolated score that nobody seems to have noticed (including Jon Burlingame). Any comments or corrections are most welcome.

01 Gunbarrel / White Knight

Score

02 Jet Fight

Boot

03 James Bond with Bombs / Tomorrow Never Dies

Boot

04 The Sinking of the Devonshire

Score

(I think the extended coda material in the film is tracked from other cues, from The Last Goodbye and Underwater Discovery if I remember correctly, with a synth overlay here and there.)

05 Secret Service Headquarters

Boot

06 Mission Briefing

Boot

07 Company Car

Score + DVD + Score

There’ s an unreleased section in the film that needs to be edited in the middle of the score track. Watch out, it appears to be truncated or edited itself, and you best leave out the first two/three unreleased seconds, since it’s an unfinished measure (the fourth note of the Bond accompaniment motif is missing). But it makes for a complicated edit, because you’ll have the track in the first note from the next statement because the overlap won’t work otherwise.

08 Phone Call

Boot

09 Station Break

Soundtrack

(The film version has a different first part, but it’s entirely tracked I believe.)

10 Paris and Carver

Boot

(from 0:31 onwards. The first part is tracked from Phone Call – or vice versa, but judging from the edit it seems that this is the tracked cue.)

11 Paris and Bond

Score

12 The Last Goodbye

Score

(This aside: in the film there’s very brief tracked synth overdub somewhere in the middle.)

13 Hamburg Break In

Score

14 Hamburg Break Out

Soundtrack (+ Boot) + DVD-rip

(The boot is only usable from 1:09-1:50, as it then cuts back to the OST for the ending.)

15 A Pressing Engagement

Boot

16 Doctor Kaufman

Score

17 *-3-* Send

Score

18 Backseat Driver (Film Version)

Soundtrack + DVD-rip

(DVD-rip for the insert towards the end.)

19 Airbase

Boot

20 HALO Jump Preparations

Boot

21 Underwater Discovery

Score

22 Helicopter Ride

Score

23 Banner Fall

Boot

24 Bike Chase

Score

25 Bike Shop Fight

Score

26 Kowloon Bay / Boarding the Stealth

Score + Score

27 Carver’s Plan

Boot

28 A Tricky Spot for 007

Score + DVD-rip (+ Boot)

(You'll need your own rip to replace the end note of the soundtrack ending, which is tracked from the ending of the complete version as heard in the film. The boot cuts to the dvd-rip a few seconds too late, so you'll hear the same end note twice there.)

29 Stalking the Stealth

Boot

30 Bond Back in Action

Boot

(Watch out: the bootleg loops a fragment near the end, you need to cut that out.)

31 All in a Day’s Work

Score

(Remove silence at the end.)

32 Surrender

Soundtrack

33 Backseat Driver (Alternate)

Score

2 Fast 2 Furious

The bootleg that everyone has seems to be from that German bootleg manufacturer who delivers pressed CDs.
But the last track is a "Suite" with cues that need to be somewhere among the other tracks. I found the tracklist of the original promo on freedb.
If anyone has that version of the score, please contact me.

- The cues in the "Suite" are almost definitely: Travelling to Customs; Monica Compromised; Night Race Set Up

- The second part of Break Out, which is the track on David Arnold's site, was titled Scramble/Bluff on the German CD,
so I replaced the second part of Break Out by that identical track on the bootleg, because it's likely to be in better sound quality.
The complete track now matches the track time of Chase Part 3, and is this is the full track as plays in the film.

- The rest of the German bootleg can be easily retitled from the tracklist below. Everything matches up except Hallway Rat Torture,
which is shorter on the German CD but longer in this tracklist, and indeed longer in the film as well.

1. Ready Ready Ready 0:39
2. Race Remix 2:59 /
3. Bridge; End Race 1:52
4. Scramble; Chase 1:39
5. I Pick the Driver 0:14
6. Roman Sees Brian 1:10
7. Travelling to Customs 1:17
8. Meet Verone 1:54
9. Freeway Race 2:38
10. Reach Impound 0:54
11. Cops at the Impound 0:32
12. Deliver Package 1:41
13. The Job 1:46
14. Ditch Enrique 1:41
15. Monica Compromised 0:52
16. Two More Cars 0:28
17. Night Race Set Up 1:37
18. Night Race 1:42
19. Hallway Rat Torture 4:32
20. House Boat Altercation 3:01
21. Where Were You? 0:47
22. Making Plans 0:57
23. Brian and Roman Bond 1:16 (/?)
24. Buil up to the Run 1:54 /

26. Cops 2:52 /
27. Chase Part 1 1:30
28. Airstrip 0:28 /
29. Chase Part 2 2:19
30. Chase Part 3 3:17 (/)

33. Road End; Barstow 3:45 /
34. Chasing the Boat 1:31
