Hi everybody, I'm very, very sorry I misled everyone with this false news of the Tanglewood webcast... I had no idea it had unleashed such a debate! Yet, for my defense, I would like to say that the WGBH site was indeed misleading. For those who tried to listen to the webcast on August 1st, they may remember that there was a link supposedly giving you access to the live concert. On the "Symphony Cast" webpage, the link was at the very bottom of the page. It said "Listen Live" or something equivalent. If it was not to listen live on the Internet, what was it for? Second, as you say it yourself, you had to really search for the disclaimer to find it. Obviously it was easier to find it afterwards, when you knew something went wrong. And second, you may agree that it is somewhat stange not to broadcast only Tanglewood concerts, while others are. How could I know? But, again, I apologize for the misinformation. Here is the message that WGBH addressed to me a few days ago: "Dear Mr Bertrand, We're able to stream up until the concert starts. We mean to say that we are carrying the broadcast live on the radio but not as a stream. Apparently something we need to make clear. We stream all our broadcasts live but the BSO and POPS. We're very sorry for the confusion." Now the site has been updated, with disclaimers quite apparent. Anyway, thanks for your excellent investigation! Any chance you might share those master tape copies ?... Benoit
