  1. for me, the thin red line is stunning... i think ridley made a good choice as zimmer probably wans't available, i own quite a few scores by harry gregson-williams, on his own, and some of his collaborations with john powell...i like his work...thanks for the heads up on that....
  2. i vote for contacts
  3. i won't answer because like i have said there's room in my life for everybody...i like zimmer and i like williams, there's no competition, as long as their work moves me that's all that matters to me...best and worst is something too ambiguous to classify...
  4. ok, maybe over there in the states, i go to the cinema every single week here in portugal and this that was a first for me...except with the teasers of the lotr series...
  5. i never heard it, but i'll try and check it out, i only have two versions (the normal edition and an expanded one) of the tyler score...
  6. i think williams has a much kinder expression...only similarity seems to be the bald head and the 'haircut'
  7. when it comes out, i'll listen to it and then decide what i think about it...people are free to make their decisions in life regardless of whether others like it or not...as for williams decision to walkaway from the potter series, it's one that only concerns him at the end of the day, i'm sure he had his motives, and i don't think he is bound to reveal them... as a fan of a his work in general, i look forward to checking out whatever he composes, as a fan of oriental culture and somebody who has an interest in this movie as the book is so good, i have an added interest...my opinions regarding the music will come when i hear it not before then...
  8. the only pix there after going through some pages are the ones from the com con, were those the ones you were talking about? i gather not!! is it, or in two of the pix, hayden christensen looks really tired, are they still filming?? he looks as if he has massive bags under his eyes in one of the shots...
  9. oh boy oh boy oh boy...huba huba huba *wait* i just realised there's still a long wait ahead...dang
  10. Can you provide a link to that quote? I don't think Giger would have ever said that, since he was not involved with the second film in anyway. Neil no, unfortunatelly not, i came across it a long time ago whilst doing research for something else, in my stupidty i never xeroxed the damn thing, so i could be making a mistake (my apologies if i am)...i know he wasn't involved, so i assumed it was meant it in an visually impressive manner, which undoubtedly the second one is just amazing...unlike a certain swim team in a certain 4th movie...sigh...and alien vs predator opens up here in portugal this thursday...
  11. last movie i saw was 'shark's tale', i was swamped with work last week and the weeks before and i haven't been able to go to the cinema as much as i'd like to, i'm going to try and catch collateral today...before a shark's tale i saw 'before sunset' (LOVED it)...
  12. yeah...the first one is more of a psychological thriller than a full blown evil alien killing everybody thing...however, having said that, i do agree with giger, he always stated that *the* alien was the one in the second movie, and i always found that visually that is the most stunning one, and i don't think it's a coincidence that's the that was chosen for that collector's box that came out with the first 3 movies a few years ago, and that i'm desperately trying to find, as since this new 9 dvd edition with the egg in the cover came out, that one just disappeared...argh...
  13. *that's a program*...cool... nice piece i wonder if they have a version for dummies, you know people with zero musical formation like me
