  1. Great news guys! I've just been informed that George Lucas is getting involved with this special version of Star Trek! Get ready because a new digital character will be joining the crew of the Enterprise this time! His name is Ler-Ler Dinks and he's a crazy alien stow-away from the planet X-89. He'll be inserted behind Kirk in nearly every scene of every episode to provide gut-busting slap-stick humor and comic relief! Whoa trekkies, hold onto your hats!!! on a more serious note, the youtube clip does look quite cool.
  2. great job with your edit, Good Musician! the unused stinger that you guys are talking about possibly underscoring a podracer crash, is that "sqplayerdeath" or is it the unused "sqdanger...." i forget the whole name?
  3. it's a pitty Aayla didn't survive. I'd like to have seen more of her.... :? Here's a question: Who would you like to see score the project. (besides Williams himself).
  4. hey guys! I'm sort of a beginner with composing, but if you want to hear some of my work i'm also on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/jsvargas
  5. Hmmm, I'm looking for "Track 10 (4:33-end) - Use the Force" with a clean start. On the OST, the SE cd, and the Anthology, you can hear the note in the low strings from the previous cue still holding over when this cue starts. I SWEAR I've heard a clean start somewhere...maybe on a video game. If anyone knows, I'd greatly appreciate it.
  6. Man....I was at IOA just a month ago and I didn't even hear any of this music...I hate my life.
  7. wow.....thanks a lot..never knew that was on imdb!
  8. Pardon me for asking, but which Horner theme sounds like David Arnold's stargate theme? I play French Horn and recently I played Shoshtakovitch's 5th Symphony. In the last movement, one of the main melodies (which in the middle of the movement is a gorgeous horn solo!) sounds a LOT like Horner's theme for Achilles in Troy. Just a section of the theme, but it is so close, and not only the notes but the rhythm was almost identical too! I wonder if Horner was listening to this symphony shortly before having to write the score for Troy.
  9. If anyone owns "The Terminal" on DVD, I'd really appreciate it if someone could look on the End Credits and post the names and artists of the "songs" featured in the film. I liked some of the Jazz tunes in the movie, and I'd like to know what they are. Of course, I could just go rent it again, but.... Thanks for the help!
  10. Wow, it sounds like Wal-Mart doesn't know what they are talking about. Forget it, I wont even preorder it. Hopefully they'll have a bunch and I can just walk in and see what's what when they come out. *sigh*
  11. In the prequel main titles, the trumpets do seem more reserved, but I actually kind of like it. It's less in-your-face i guess. I'll have to go listen to them all again, refresh my memory. Is there any difference between the prequel main titles? I thought I read somewhere that AOTC was mixed different, like the snare drum was louder or something...??
  12. Jerry Goldsmith's "Star Trek Insurrection" has a really pretty oboe solo in the End Credits track. I've always remembered it. There is a Violin Concerto by Samuel Barber that, in the 2nd movement has a goergeous oboe solo. I think Goldsmith likes to use the oboe a lot, but I can't name any other specific scores...can't remember.
  13. yeah, it's confusing. And you'd think that the "Wal-Mart exclusive" would be the one WITH the extra track, but it isn't. doesn't make sense!!!!
  14. This is probably a stupid question, but is the Horn Concerto the same thing as "Soundings" or is it something different?
  15. In the Filmtracks.com review of the ROTS soundtrack, (in the last paragraph) he mentions that all of the major themes from TPM are reprised in some way in AOTC, and he goes on to say "even the flag parade" is in AOTC. It is?? Why have I never noticed it? If anyone knows where it is, I'd like to know! Thanks
