Okay, so what i've heard is that He seems to borrow quite freely from various ROMANTIC composers. So is there in fact, some truth in calling him an "Orchestarotor of Romantic composers works" or is the maority of his work original? I know you will probably all tell me to listen to the music, but i almost for sure don't have as good an ear for JW inner nuances as you guys do! This is what i gatrher from all the info i've gathered form here and elsewhere: feel free to tear it into peices if you want. Although JW is considered by many to be the most original composer in the 21st century, the truth is in fact, that majority of his most memorable scenes [in star wars] have at least a passing influence from previous Romantic era composers. While some critics denote this fact to reducing his abillity to that of a 'romantic' orchestrator (which is in my opinion at the moment not entirely false), JW is by the vary nature of his proffesion forced to mold and adapt the "stolen" theme into something that will fit the ambient mood of the film; and results in his own composoral vioce to be heard.

Wow this is great.. Yeas i would love to review the paper....If you are a film major and the paper is yours it is most definetely Allowable... Although I would need a little of you guys' info so i can credit you in my paper hmmph....That shows how much a my music teacher knows also: O.K. but what about the structure, do you think it is possible that he might have sampled from the likes of Wagner (leifmotive) or Tchiackosky (percussion theming)? Do you think JW could have drawn upon some jazz references for scenes such as "the catina scene"? Wow this is great !!!!

Yes I have found some great general sites about this information, however as i am writing my thesis all of my sites need to by either directly from a "very reliable source" (i.e. John williams coordinator, a professor, etc). Therefore most websites i am allowed to use are supposed to have .gov or a .edu in the domain name. As for doing the research myself, it is a great idea, however the 'research' i have to do, by the vaery nature of a term paper, must not be my own. I was wondering if you guys were able to come across any, as i am not the most computer savvy guy out there . Thanks for your replies!
