  1. " Where the hell is my light saber baton? I can't conduct with such shoddy equipment!"
  2. Well, even 70mm prints now utilize digital soundtracks. I was really hoping the historic Castro Theater would show it- I saw DUNKIRK there. I would have gladly watched a 70mm print ( they recently played HAIL MARY). BUT, they are playing DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2! 😭😖😩😤🙄
  3. 70mm 12 perf IMAX on the other hand is superior to all formats Once film goes thru a projector it degrades from dirt and scratches . Same with vinyl. As soon as it is exposed to dust in the air and a needle in the groove. Professional filmmakers knew this and would make sure to see films at the beginning of a theatrical run. Digital projection also gives you a rock steady image. Film can shake going through the gate- you have all seen films that seem to suffer from this 😤
  4. The reason films used to be blown up from 35- 70mm was to allow for six tracks of sound. With digital sound, this is no longer necessary. A blow-up increases grain in the film . The only reason to see this in 70 is.....there is no reason I saw DUNKIRK in 70mm and it was disappointing to once again see dirt and scratches on the print. Best option: shoot on film, project digital P.S. one semi-valid argument for 70mm is the larger print doesn't have to use anamorphic lenses to unsqueeze the image and less light from the projector bulb is needed.
  5. I vote we keep the old heart and ditch the new one. An emoji based on this would be nice. We don't really have one Do we? That's neutral. We need an " annoyed" " looking askance" " gimme a break" " frown" " seriously?!"
  6. Looks like TOY STORY Five might knock DD out of the good theaters😭🤬 ( Or, reduce show times?)
  7. Question: Are any other big budget, anticipated films opening at the same time as DD? I want to know if I need to see it the first week to see it in DOLBY CINEMA ( or IMAX). Sometimes they only play a week at the premium theaters THANKS!
  8. I'm seeing it in Dolby Cinema which is a better way to see this. Why? DD was shot in Panavision , 2:39 aspect ratio. The IMAX screen is app. 1:5 aspect ratio. And , folks always complain.they.cant understand the dialog because the tall theaters cause echo. Dolby has a true wides screen, made for films like this. The 70mm IMAX presentation will be a blow - up of a 35mm print which degrades the image
