This movie sucks This would have been extremely cool and better.

It's beloved by me and I'm cooler than those. A lot of humor in the movie is physical and/or character motivated (it'd benefit from a couple tdbits of cobtext from the book maybe) and a little silly. It's... very... almost animated, and bordering on commentary on american scifi despite being really sincere. The character is like the character in the book but different (RG probably does the one character Weir writes better than Matt Damon, but the circumstances are very different). Then most humor disappears in the last act.

i imagine sound is probably the bigger problem for home setups? enough dynamic range and the neighbors complain, or the room is too small...

my priorities for those: 1. Ryan Gosling space movie (really sells you on the cinema experience) 2. Disclosure Day and Dune 3 (low priority) huuh that's it?

I still can hold my pee for three hours. I also don't have a great setup at home good taste

nah the spirit of the movie is much closer to like, early zemeckis or whatever Andy Weir loves than marvel movies. It's also happens to be Star Trek: First Contact just better executed

The runtime must simply be enough to express and twist and turn the themes of the story, provided that hack Koepp remembered to have them.

Life's too short not to listen to Signs. I've forgotten Dial of Destiny entirely.

not the best idea to have JW compose it but i'm mostly vaguely puzzled by Spielberg ending up with these movies over the last two decades. probably not his choice some of the time but still.

really fun movie Probably too reliant in montages? I love a good montage, but it's really bursting at the seams with like two hours and a half of novel.
