  1. Angela also wrote 3 arrangements for Cinema Serenade, although it's for different songs, so I assume the CS version of Por Una Cabeza is a John Williams arrangements (correct me if I'm wrong). ( The songs on CS she arranged are: (1) “I Will Wait For You” - The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg Michel Legrand arr. Angela Morley (2) “Main Title” - Out Of Africa John Barry arr. Angela Morley (3) “Love Theme” - Cinema Paradiso Andrea Morricone arr. Angela Morley )
  2. Wow, that was a really long time ago.. Hmm right now I'm pretty sure that it was Morley, although I can add it as a post scriptum XD
  3. I have a question that I must forward to John Williams (through the snail mail that is mentioned on this site). Should I worry that I might not receive a reply from him? (I'm pretty certain that someone here already tried writing to him..). I'm just curious if he really has the time to read his mail.. (I'll be sending this from Israel btw, hopefully that won't be an obstacle) Thanks in advance =]
  4. Last question, really sorry to bother you (and bump again..). Even though Morley arranged it, is there still a chance Itzhak Perlman is on the violin? He did a wonderful job playing to Williams' arrangements.
  5. Hmm sorry for the bump. Just wanted to ask if this address is correct (i.e. up-to-date)
  6. It will be a decisive proof. I just want to ask him about his relationship with this song (particularly regarding SL), no big deal. edit: there's a chance that the same tango on Por Una Cabeza was also arranged by Morley, this is taken from her autobiography: "John Williams still seemed to like my arrangements. I wrote three for a CD that he recorded with the LSO in London called The Hollywood Sound, and three more that he recorded conducting the Pittsburgh Symphony with Itzhak Perlman playing the violin solos on a CD called Cinema Serenade."
  7. Maybe I should write him a letter, Do you think he'll answer? (and if yes, how long will it take?) btw is this address still correct?: Gorfaine / Schwartz Agency 4111 W. Alameda Avenue Suite 509 Burbank, California 91505 USA
  8. The booklet from Amazon could talk about another version, not Schindler's list.. Also those "complete recording sessions" mention that the arrangement is done by Angela Morley. Right now I think that Morley arranged it & Williams either orchestrated/conducted it, but I'm still looking for confirmation.
  9. Do you have the original sheet music? I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/Tango-Por-Una-Cabeza-Reduction/dp/1423442253 but it's probably talking about another version, not from Schindler's List. Thanks for the comment =] So in conclusion: you're saying that John Williams didn't arrange Por Una Cabeza for Schindler's List, but he did arrange the rest of the soundtrack? that's what I need to know. With all due respect, I don't think so.. I uploaded it to YouTube if you want: 1. 2. 3. Anyway, I think such version has to be released officialy sooner or later.
  10. I wanted to contact Williams himself and ask this, but thought it might be more useful to check out this fansite. Well, I want to know (and be really really convinced), if John Williams arranged "Por Una Cabeza" as it appears in Schindler's list or not? I know that the entire film's OST was arranged by Williams, but Por Una Cabeza wasn't featured there so maybe it's an exception. I also downloaded from the internet something that claims to be "the complete recording sessions" of schindler's list, and seems quite legit ( http://worldofsoundtrack.blogspot.com/2009/03/john-williams-schindlers-list-recording.html ), again it said everything was arranged by Williams, except por una cabeza, which apparently was arranged by Angela Morley (sounds weird, but still..). I do know for sure that Williams does have a few arrangements of this tango, for example in "Cinema Serenade", but I'm asking particulary about Schindler's List. I need to know this for a certain research I'm having, thanks in advance
